Anyone know of a website where there is a reasonably reliable pre-post market?

I use the Daily Telegraph but it can be extremely inaccurate.

Thanks.
Michael.

best there is online...it is a free signup but after each race they replace the odds with the results...so no good for system testing

Michaelg, I followed that Hot Pots system for "TOO LONG" however the results showed a much better return when I used Radio prices Saturday morning. They were much closer to the actual favouite.

Thanks, Shaun.

I've now registered and will check it out tomorrow. Do you know where they get their pre-post odds from? If it's from the TAB pool it might not be accurate as I want the prices a couple of hours before the first race to compare with the neurals.

Partypooper, unfortunately the Radio prices on 2KY (Sydney's racing station)aren't given during the week. I wonder where the newspapers get their pre-post prices? I've occassionaly compared the Telegraph's with the Herald's, and they can have quite a few discrepancies especially with the more-fancied horses.

They are generated by a computer program...but you will find them very accurate....

Michael,

They are prices generated from a computer program and they are usually up well before race time. In fact they are often up the day before. Tomorrow's prices may be on there already. Their prices are actually used by many newspapers and the Telegraph may actually use them for some meetings already.

Thanks again - I'll certainly check it out today and also compare their prices with those shown in the Tele.

However, if the prices are shown early, even the day before, are they then adjusted when scratchings are declared?

Nope. The scratched horses' prices are just removed.

I've compared pre-post prices on TAB Online with the Telegraph. The Cessnock prices differ, sometimes quite dramatically. However, the prices for Narromine and Sale are identical.

Gday All,

I make my own odds line every day for just about all the meetings held around the country.. To me, the PPM is just an opinion and that is why they vary. I sometimes look at the Tele (not often tho) and from memory I see that they sometimes give a by-line for who assessed the markets. So that is just that person's idea of the market.

I don't think there is a wrong or right PPM market, they are all opinions. The only true market is the paramutuel pools the TAB's run. In theory they are determined by weight of money, whereas a bookie may take a set against a runner and take it on, and skew the market according to his opinion, meaning the bookie thinks that horse can't win. Or alternatively have something very short for the opposite reason.. where others have it way longer..

It's all opinion

I think the computer program is the Winline GTX program.
