I want to get into horse racing and start betting on races.

Any suggestions as to how to get started and any info a beginner like me should know?

I hope this isn't another thread which sinks to the bottom.

IRCHorseRacing on Austnet (IRC/mIRC) is something I've enjoyed for a long time, and seems to be a good online game (I stress game) that helps teach people the basics. Good community of people enjoying their racing also. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the web address here, so just e-mail me if you'd like to know more.
