I know this isn't an NBA pick, but get on the Hunter Pirates -6.5 tonight. They are well rested, have a buch of big men that can take Chris Burgess out of the game and they beat Cairns convincingly around a month ago at the same venue.
My bet is Hunter -6.5 into Wollongong SU at $2.28.

ok sparkus, on your advice I've taken it. I also went for the treble of Wollongong, Sydney and Hunter. I've also backed Wollongong -8.5.

Geez mate the pressure is on now!!
I stayed away from the Kings mainly because they are playing their 3rd game in 5 days and most teams have trouble with that. Also if you remeber back about 6 weeks the Crocs smashed Sydney in Sydney, but that was the game Kendall and Bruton got injured in. CJ is supposed to be back today so it will be interesting to see where he fits in. in saying that though I think they should win.
Hawks have played pretty well the last two games, so I expect them to win. Wasn't brave enough to take the -8.5, been burned by the Hawks taking biggish spreads.
Were all the legs of that treble SU?

Also had small wagers on Wethers($1.80) to top score out Stewart, Burgess and Melmeth, as well as Mee($6) to outscore Ballinger, Horvath and Dwight.

what does SU mean?
thanks for the radio link.
NZ beat Perth by 1 point in OT earlier today. Amazingly the spread was 1.5! I've always thought 1.5 point handicaps were only worth backing -1.5. I guess I was wrong as Perth +1.5 won. Well done to the bookies on choosing that spread.
Pirates 31 v Taipans 37
Hawks 28 v Razorbacks 17
Kings 31 v Crocodiles 36
I hope you're right about Hunter. They're losing by 6 but still very early in the game.
Kings down by 5 but I'm not worried yet.

Straight Up.
Not too worried about the Pirates yet. Cairns should tire in the second half, still when you are taking the points you would like to be ahead early.
Man the Kings game sounds like they are playing an all star game the way both teams are scoring points!!

Man unless there is OT i think we are gone!!
Pirates keep getting back to within 1, then let it slip out again.

Ive been looking at the live scoreboard and it seems as though the Pigs didn't score for just over 7mins. If only the Pirates had defence like the Hawks!!

109-109, could be going to OT which i need the Pirates to dominate!!

well hunter didnt cover the spread but my treble and my wollongong bet both came off so can't complain. :)

I was just reading the match report for the Hunter game and it said they were up by 5 with a minute to go, so they did have a chance to cover which makes it even harder to swallow :(
Anyways enough about that lets move on to tomorrows NBA.
Dallas, Phoenix and Washington all look likely winners and you could probably make a case for Houston as well.
I am staying well clear of the Pistons v Celtics and Lakers v Nuggets games. All of those teams have had fluctuating results recently and I am not one for guessing whch team is going to show up.
The Kings v Spurs game should be a cracker, but I think there is value to had in the -1.5 Spurs. They have been in great form recently racking up big wins over there last few opponents. The Kings have been good without being great and I just can't get that recent home loss to the Warriors out of my head.
Another game I like is Philly +2 @ the Clippers. The Sixers have been great on the road recently beating some quality opposition, while the Clips have been very disappointing of late. I haven't fully sold myself on this one yet so I am just going to wait until closer to game time.
Let me know what you guys think.

I may as well get my record out of the gutter, so here are the tips...
Washington
Phoenix
Lakers
Detroit
Houston
San Antonio
:)
I should be 6-3 after this, or at least 5-4.

Well the 76ers lost, but luckily for me it was a real early game which I didn't realise so I didn't wake up in time. Unfortunately though by not waking up early I missed the -1.5 about the Spurs and ended up having to take -3. The other bet I am having is Phoenix -12. The Blazers are short-handed and are coming off a tough game yesterday, so you would think the Suns would run them ragged and post a fairly big score.

Suns win 117-98 with Amare Stoudemire going off for 50 points. I was worried for a little while there, but Phoenix kept their guns in there to help Stoudemire get his 50 and that meant they were scoring at will in the last quarter.
Now if SA can win it will cap a good day they are 44-41 early 2nd half and are killing me with their free throw shooting 4/10 at the moment. Anyways here's hoping they can get the win.
Looks like you are going to have a good day K-man. Hope you put a bunch of cash on your picks!

I also woke up too late and couldn't bet on anything. Not even Hrbaty.
Spurs lost though!
My record is now 5-4.

Spurs killed what would of been a good day. They were 50% from the free throw line (9/18), never going to win if you cant hit your foul shots.

All i had today was a multi of the Heat into the Grizzlies at $1.73. I doubt that the Sonics will be able to handle Shaq.

Well K-man we can thank Eddie Jones for our losses on the Miami game. He had a chance to take the game to OT at the free throw line but choked.
If it goes to OT the over probably hits and Miami is still in with a chance for the win!!

well I went 3-2 today which means profit but still I hope for better.
This brings overall record to 8-6.
