Hrbarty is a good price ($1.65) to beat Philippoussis who sucks.
Hrbaty won 42 games last year, Philippoussis won 11.
Mark has a 2-0 head to head lead but it should be noted that their last game was in 2000.
Hrbaty is ranked 14, Phili. is ranked 82.
Bet against Aus. in this one.
Molik should win her match to keep Australia alive. Don't expect any miracles from Philippoussis though. He's a dud.

I am going to give it a couple of weeks before I get back into the tennis, you just dont know who has been working hard over the break and who hasn't.
You are probably right about the Scud v Hrbaty match. Hrbaty kicked ass last Aussie summer and seems to like the conditions out here, but I am still hesitant to have a bet when there is no real recent form to go on.
Molik is no sure thing either, she has had her troubles with Hantuchova in the past but I think she is fired up for a big Aussie summer so I think she should win.
The late match should be good between Haas and Safin, but once again I will stay away until I see who is in good shape.

He was leading 5-1 at one stage, but Phillipoussis came back. Hrbaty still took the first set as expected though.

This match has been more like womens tennis, as neither one of them can hold their serve.
I'd probably back the Slovaks in the doubles after watching Scud play.

Wish I could of, my bookie had already taken the price down so i couldn't get on.
Did any of you watch that first set?? Man Scud the Dud blew so many chances it wasn't funny. I was pretty happy when I was watching thinking that the Aussies looked to be cruising and I had just saved my money by not getting on, but that smile is now gone!!!

No, I didn't bet. Should have, because both singles went the way I thought they would, to Molik and Hrbaty in straight sets. I thought the doubles could go either way, and it turned out to be a great match.

Got some good value today with Hrbaty winning at $1.65 now lets just hope safin can get over the line to top off a good day

Did you hear that he told his fans (if he has any left) not to expect anything good at the Aus open!!! He said he just doesn't want to put any pressure on himself and he even turned down a coaching offer from John Macenroe who had pity on the poo and wanted to put his career back on track

I've bet on Safin to beat Haas. If Safin's form towards last year is anything to go by then this is a lock.

that's interesting. To me that's another indication that he isn't very passionate about tennis any more. I think he's more into the hollywood lifestyle these days.
