As I don't have a lot of success with my usual thing on saturdays and I don't bet, for the past month or so I have been playing with something (no smart comments please) for sats only and so far so good..

Lets see how they go today.

Sydney R3 no1 R6 no2 R8 no7.

Melbourne R1 no1 R6 no3 R8 no1.

Brisbane R4 no1 R6 no6.

Adelaide R3 no4 R8 no1.

Held up again today, approx 5 points profit depending where you placed your bet.

Will keep playing around for a couple of more weeks before putting $ on.

Well done Kenchar keep it up. But you would still have done better with PPM (Partypoopers Plum Movers) which included SR9-12 Cash Carter @ $30.70c,
Just took the opportunity to blow my own trumpet!! hee hee!

Shaun,

All win bets, too short prices for place.

Partypooper,

Good onya I always like to hear success stories, but I think the run of outs you would have would give me heart failure.

Anyhow as said will keep following and if looks OK will share around.

It's all done manually using the Sportsman and doesn't take long to work out a whole day.

marcus25,

I like the idea, except I am the worst form student on this forum, I have just been mucking around with the charts in the Sportsman, very easy to use as the whole stats on the race are there in front of you.
I have come up with 8 things to look for and if a horse complies with 3 of them it is a bet.
Very simple and each race takes less than a minute.
I have been suprised how it has performed on the sats, BUT early days.
I just hope it pans out so I can contribute something to certain people on the forum.
I have been waffling on this forum for a long time but have not contributed much because what I do daily is hard to explain, I have tried but I can't post what goes through my head.
I am half pissed in a great frame of mind as the little puppy I was tipped tonight more than doubled my wages for the day.
Lets see what happens tomorrow.
Talking about being pissed, My Wife doesn't drink but tonight I made Her a jamaican rum, coconut juice, and pineapple juice and by the look of Her the night is going to get better.
LUV this FORUM

Cheers.

Shaun,

Nope!!!!!!!!!!

Just playing around but very interesting, BUT I,m sure like anything I've tried to do before will fall into a big hole, EXCEPT what I'm doing.

The interesting thing though is I did the selections last night BEFORE scratchings, IF I had done them today AFTER scratchings there was an another 3 bets that all won at between 2.5 and 3.0.

It actually is very interesting and if holds up will run as a second method, BUT as always 1 point then get pissed.

If you want me to Email the rules just let me know on this thread.

Cheers

I would be interested too, Kenchar. Have appreciated your help often given in the forum. Can understand, too, the difficulties you have encountered in trying to help us understand what you actually do as your main punting effort. I have tried to emulate with mixed success. Still every little bit of understanding helps :)

Hi Kenchar,

"A bit disconcerning the amount of bets it has thrown up this, has never happened before."

"Anyhow lets see how it goes."

I know early days Kenchar, but to reduce bets have you considered using more than your 3 criteria to come up with selections. I am sure you have :). Does it increase strikerate?

Can you post me the method also.

A bit late posting results, but I've been out trying to hire a backhoe to dig ourselves out of the hole we both fell in.

Again depending where one bets I worked it out I lost 7 points and you lost 9. This is what I thought might happen after a while.
The same as virtually everything else I've tried, goes OK for a while then falls in a hole.
Even if I had got a min of 1 point ahead for the day I would have been happy as thats the way I would play it if I used it.
I will follow it for a few more weeks to see how it goes before putting $ on,
but not real confident.
I know I sound like a whinger because it had a losing day, but believe me I do not bet for fun or to lose.
That's why I will always bet using hit and run, small profit daily, big profit at the end of the month.

To all you other Guys will send you all an email sometime tonite, BUT please tread very careful as I don't want anyone losing money.
Just maybe one of you can refine it a bit.

Cheers

[QUOTE=kenchar]A bit late posting results, but I've been out trying to hire a backhoe to dig ourselves out of the hole we both fell in.

Kenchar, as good old Bjelke P used to say "Don't you worry about it"
Today was a disaster for me everywhere but I was almost expecting it and was prepared for it.
It happens!!
Do not change tracks because of it. I do not have a system, I do rate every race I want to bet on and in the long run I'm doing fine.
What went against us today is the number of races qualifying, you mentioned it yourself.
One cannot bet on every race and hope to come out on top.
One good thing about punting is that you can always evaluate, revise and rethink your strategy providing you do not blow the bank?.
There is always a tomorrow and a new race!!

Cheers

Hi Kenchar,

It's spelt the same way as the bird.

"Pigeon English [perhaps a corruption of business English], an extraordinary and grotesque dialect, employed in the commercial cities of China, as the medium of communication between foreign merchants and the Chinese. Its base is English, with a mixture of Portuguese and Hindoostanee." --Johnson's Cyc

Don't even ask me where that last language comes from! Best of luck with your system Kenchar, and don't worry too much about having a bad day -- you weren't on your lonesome in that regard on Saturday.

My own idea and I stuffed up on sat.

To all you out there that know the rules will know what I am talking about.

S5, Wicked Wizard I had it marked in the sportsman but for some reason didn't transfer it to the sheet I made going race to race.
outside barrier---top zip---7 days, paid $7.2.

A3, Thirsk was from barrier 2 but Sweedan was scratched so Thirsk then had the inside barrier and became a bet. paid 5.9.

That gives an extra profit of approx 11 points less the loss I posted which gives a profit of 4 points on the day.

I feel a bit better now but I know if I start putting money on this I will be doing my paperwork BEFORE the chardonny.

Cheers

Hey, sounds like you're using rules that I'd like. Everybody probably knows how much I love the inside and outside barriers and I also love backing horses who last ran 7 days ago. I wonder could you possibly email me those rules and I've got a system for Saturday racing that you might be able to make some use of. :)

Yo kenchar, ta for the system rules.
I just grabbed an old copy of Sportsman for Sat 27th March 04 and applied the rules.
There was 21 bets for 8 winners and 11 placgetters.
The return for the win was $42.90 and the place return was $20.10.
It threw up GENIUS AND EVIL at R'hill paying $19.20 the win and UTZON paying $6.30 the win (QLD tote).
It may throw up the odd good priced winnerfrom the look of it, so I shall see if I can dig up a few other old formguides and see how it stands up.

ME square on the day.

YOU minus 3.5

Calculated on no of bets after scratchings.

I'm still reasonably satisfied, as with my style of betting I would have stopped at B5 approx 6 points up.
Same as last SAT 3.7 up early then went down then up to 6 up and finished the day 4 up.
I would have been having a drink at 3.7
