My tip of the month, perhaps year is for Whisky Assassin to lose his heat. The winner you ask? Arejay Saint or Choda Boy. I will be having $50 on each, i advise others to consider it.

Nice one Haveadip, only got just over even money however for both bets, you may have been better off laying Whisky on betfair, where you could have at least tripled your money.

betfair don't bet on australian greyhound racing.

bl4dez - the dog being blocked etc was predictable. he begins OK over 515, this was 424 and had beginners on his outside. 424 NOT his trip, he was a great lay (or so his wife says! boom boom)

Ended up putting $50 on the 1 and only 10 on the 3. So a good result in the end, thought Arejay would be at longer odds but the short distance doesnt help Whiskys slow starts.

arejays saint was much shorter than i thought it would be too, i was very keen on it for the exact same reasons you were. whisky a great dog, but he's no knockabout wok from the boxes and at warragul to win the wgl cup you need to be.

wgl cup is such a dynamite sprinters race, puzzle prize - knockabout wok were the perfect dogs for it. Puzzle prize still holds pride of place as my favourite dog, so consistent, so fast out of the boxes......

Dual Group 1 winner Paua To Burn has obliterated the track record over 472m at Bulli tonight.
Though only moderately away from box six, Paua To Burn took control before the first turn and raced away to score in an amazing 26.02 seconds.

Last Wednesday, Bond eclipsed Bob’s One’s track record by .01 when successful in 26.25 seconds.

Before her win in the Group 1 Sapphire Crown at Sandown in November, posted 26.17 at Bulli in a solo trial and only last Monday, bettered the 365m record at Nowra (20.77) in a another solo offering.

She is also the former record holder (with Modern Assassin) over 515m at Sandown.

The daughter of Awesome Assassin has been sparingly raced in recent times and a crack at the Golden Easter Egg is high on owner/trainer Steve White’s agenda.

With superstar sprinter Whisky Assassin due back in town for the $130,000 to the winner Egg, the WP 520m record, held by Some Secret and Collision is under siege.

Paua to burn is a star, no doubt. AS to the difference between melb and sydney dogs - it varies year to year. There is no definite, whereas in horse racing in the last four years or so you could confidently say that Melb horses are superior.

I love dog racing. I have a bitch (now retired) called Our Moral, only won one race from 14 or so but gee that was a great day when she won. We have sent her to Cry Havoc, are full of hopes.

PS- i backed paua to burn in the shootout, but - like Whisky - think the 424 at wgl wouldn't be her go
