I AM A FIRST TIME USER BUT AN AVID PUNTER. I HAVE AN IDEA REGARDING A PARTICULAR ASPECT OF FORM WHICH I HAVE NEVER SEEN MENTIONED IN SYSTEMS EITHER COMMERCIAL OR PRIVATE . VALUE BEING THE KEY IT SEEMS TO THROW UP WINNERS IN THE 8-1 TO 20-1 PRICE BRACKET. I HAVE NEVER TESTED MY IDEA BUT WOULD LIKE TO DO SO MYSELF. CAN ANYONE OFFER ANY ADVICE REGARDING A FORM DATABASE FROM WHICH I COULD TEST IT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Hi Peter!
I'm positive there are at least a dozen of us here with a database good enough to help you out, BUT you are asking for a database with form! not help with your idea.
There are a number of vendors selling databases.
Cheers!

THANKS FOR THE PROMPT REPLY . REGARDING FORM DATABASES FOR SALE CAN YOU MENTION WHO HAS THEM , THE PRICE AND SUITABILITY FOR TESTING A SYSTEM . I HAVE NOT DEVELOPED A SET OF RULES, I JUST HAVE ON KEY ASPECT TO BUILD A SYSTEM AROUND . I WOULD PREFER TO TEST IT MYSELF AS I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE TO SPEND THEIR TIME ON MY BEHALF AND ALSO BECAUSE I BELIEVE THE VALUE LIES IN PEOPLE RULING OUT HORSES WITH THIS FORM PATTERN . EVEN HORSES THAT ARE THE FAVOURITE IN PRE-POST MARKETS ALLWAYS SEEM TO END UP AT GOOD ODDS.

Peter,

Forum terms and conditions prohibit us from even listing commercially available material. They are out there and there's more than just one ;)

Peter!
I was half joking!?
For a comprehensive database you are likely to pay thousands unless you can get it secondhand from someone.
I can understand your reluctance to part with your idea, but if it is a fizzer and you spent a lot of money on it what's the gain? Also are you a good enough programmer/user of databases to be able make the most of it?
Sometimes a bit of trust goes a long way mate!
Good luck with your project.
Cheers.

Hi Pete,
Just a word of caution from somebody who tried the same approach as yourself in asking for advice from the forum.
Some people will offer you help and once you have shared your ideas you will be deafened by the silence. I'm not saying that everyone is like that but I also don't know how you can pick the genuine offers from those just wanting your angle.
Good Luck

Hi Positive Peter,
I have a 4 year data base which cost me several thousand dollars TRB(The Ratings Bureau).
One could shell out the money or one could request a scan through our data base & I could email it back to you.
bhk at bigpond dot net dot au

System ideas are funny things , I have researched things say over 2000 races which worked well only to find the next 2000 races fell into a hole never to be seen again , so keep an open mind when analysing the shifting sands of form analysis.

Shaun!
So you think the quantity of the posts makes someone trustworthy? I could point out a few people here with over a thousand posts, hardly any is worth reading.
If I have nothing to contribute to the discussion I keep quiet.
I am sorry if foxwood had a bad experience, the people here represent the cross section of the population, so it can happen.
Cheers

Gee Shaun, I don't think I or any other forum member here for that matter, have ever met you. Yet you have worked out who among us is honest and who isn't and even supplied a public 'honesty list' [heck, I never made it] for all new members to benefit from !!!

What unique and amazing insight do you posses to have come up with this short list ? I and I'm sure others here, would love to know what criteria we have to meet to get on it.

Personally, I would utilise any system sent to me for testing that showed a nice profit, as I'm sure the [only] 3 honest members of this forum you have conveniently named would too, as I don't think stupidity is a necessary attribute of honesty.

Just in case you are formulating any other lists Shaun, 'naivety' is certainly an attribute that you should consider for your 'inappropriate posters' list.

Gees....just forget it then....let him take his chancesj with any one that replies to his request....i put the first three names that i couls think of that i have had dealings with......the question was who could he trust....well the three that i named i have had good results from and are more than willing to share ideas.....would they use a good system that they had been give....sure they would......would they sell it on....don't think so.

Crash, I think Shaun was just trying to provide the names of guys with good databases that maybe able to help out Peter, I dont think for one minute that he meant that they were the only ones on the forum to be trusted.

Ahhh no, sorry. I don't. Probably should though. I'm often bugging others to help me check ideas out. :o

Forget it Kenny. I've had over 900 posts here and I didn't make it onto the A list !!

Seriously though, I think Dr. Ron is correct and the 'honesty list' was just a clumsy faux-pas that was well intended by Shaun. We all make [regretful] faux-pas including this writer ...real clangers, just ask around !!!

Yeah I think the list was a pathetic way of making his favs listed. I have a program I run all my forms from with a 4 yr database with most days etc. But no one ever wants to know, and if it is a topic I know nothing of, why would I post to it. So YES 300 posts is stupid, and yes crash should be in it as he is always responable with his many posts if you want to go by qty of posts. Some of us always try and help where we can so we all bnefit, then others do it just to look good and help themselves.

Some of these database may not be what people ar after as there is no database of what databases we all have, is there?

My post to make my 300

I only posted those names in respnse to this thread....and like i said sorry if you didn't make the list it was just off the top of my head.....if you bothered to read the posts instead of jumping on people for the sake of posting you might learn a few things.

Hey Shaun,
For God's sake don't worry about us having a go at you mate, I reckon most of us are like a bunch of kids here, someone says something a bit dodgey and everyone jumps in to have a laugh at their expense. I certainly wasn't offended by your "postist" (or data basist) remark and anyone who was must be pretty thin skinned. Keep posting, I for one value your input.
