Of the major awards today, the Best Picture and Best Director awards will be a toss up, but the 4 major acting awards look reasonably clear cut.

Best Actor: Jamie Foxx almost a certainty for 'Ray'. ($1.07 at Centrebet). Leonardo DiCaprio ($10) and Clint Eastwood ($13) are very rough chances.

Best Actress: Hilary Swank very likely to win for 'Million Dollar Baby'. ($1.22) Outside chances to Annette Bening ($4.50) and Imelda Staunton ($11).

Best Supporting Actor: Morgan Freeman strongly favoured for "Million Dollar Baby'. ($1.33) Thomas Haden Church ($3.75) and Clive Owen ($10) are some chance.

Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett tipped to win for 'The Aviator'. ($1.30) Some chance to Virginia Madsen ($5) and Natalie Portman ($10).

Best Director: Between Martin Scorcese for 'The Aviator' ($1.60) and Clint Eastwood for 'Million Dollar Baby' ($2.10). Scorcese has never won before and was the early tip but late word is that Clint Eastwood has a top chance. As well as directing the movie, he acted in it, co-produced it and wrote the music score.

Best Picture: 'The Aviator' is favoured ($1.45), but once again 'Million Dollar Baby' ($2.75) is also a strong chance. One of the two should win.

Actor - M. Freeman at $1.43
S. Actress - K. Blanchett at $1.50

Yep. I cleaned up last year. By the way, I didn't bet on Cate Blanchett this year. Didn't want to jinx her. Hope she wins.

Once again, the money was right. Foxx was always favoured and Swank, Freeman, Blanchett and Eastwood all shortened. The late opinion was also for Million Dollar Baby for best picture. Another good year for me punting on the Oscars. I see you did very well too Michael.
