So it looks like the NSW TAB has joined up with TAB Sportsbet now? Is that right? But I just had a look at the new sports betting website for NSW and it seems to be pretty much like what the old NSW TAB was betting on with multi betting and plenty of options. Can somebody from NSW tell me what's supposed to be going on? We also have TAB Sportsbet up here in Qld but it certainly doesn't have as many betting options as the one in NSW and you can't do multi betting.

Sportz,

TABCORP has taken over SportsTAB.

SportsTAB has just launched it's new website and by February next year TAB Sportsbet will be using the same website and offering the same bet types all under the one banner (being TAB Sportsbet, which you will have noticed from the new website the name SportsTAB no longer exists)

So, by Feb next year you will be offered all the same bet types in Qld as will every other state in Australia! Which means multi betting!!! :)

Hope this helps!

you'll be hoping that it's the NSW guys running the show as they are far more adventurous with the types of bets offered and risk they are prepared to take. Vic TAB sports bookies are mostly clapped out old trots bookies terrified of putting their balls on the line and having to justify it to the bean-counters!

Zeditave,

Hmm, you seem to know a lot about all of these individual bookies...well, nearly all...

No.

I very much doubt it considering the update they have just undertaken.

At least I hope not. I use their internet service often.

Did the guy that tell you that also try to sell you a "cheap" TV??? ;)

Why the hell would they close internet betting? They'd instantly lose a HUGE chunk of their profits.

That's not quite correct.

The TAB's profit comes form their non-price sensitive customers (ie customers in the outlets-captive market)

Internet customers are much more price sensitive due to the greater availability of information and competition.

Nevertheless, they are not closing internet betting!

I don't know where people come up with this crap?!?!?!
