As a hawthorn supporter this may sound disloyal but i truly believe we will take the spoon this season, in the matches i have seen this year we have lacked direction out of the backline - struggled to get the ball into our attacking fifty with any sort of penetration, always sitting it up due to our lack of composure under pressure. We continually mess around with the ball trying to handpass our way out of situations rather than kicking it long. Our footy smarts in general seem lackluster, an example of this is kicking to a 50-50 contest 15m away rather than kicking it to a 50-50 contest 50m away.
Basic things like this contribute to a team who's structure is in shambles.
There is no team play out there, everyone seems to be out there to make themselves look good. When in trouble against sydney on the weekend and also in our wizard cup match against st kilda whenever we were in trouble we'd resort to our fiddly style of last year, similar to that of port adelaide, however the difference between the two is that they have the ability to do so, and remain cool when the heat is on.
I suggest grabbing whatever price on offer for Hawks getting the spoon

Hate to agree but it looks that way. Hawks tried and still got belted. Tigers will improve. Hawks need Barker back now. How they let Thompson go ill never know.
