I know this is called a 'home' game for the roos, and if they do have a home advantage at the mcg (ie they play well there) then I'd call it a neutral game. But if the roos don't have a true home advantage there, then they're really an away team and collingwood should get a home advantage...thoughts??

I wasn't confused before I read your post. Sure am now. :)

Not sure. Just treat it as a neutral venue. Without any figures in front of me, I'd say that both of these teams play pretty well there I think. The Kangaroos beat St Kilda at the Dome last week and the Saints are the masters of the dome, so that was a great effort. The Magpies generally do pretty well there too.

I'm not so much worried about home ground advantage. I'm worried about a couple of trends regarding the Kangaroos. The Kangaroos won just 4 out of 10 games last year when they were favourites and the last couple of years they've started off VERY well for the first few rounds before falling in a hole.

It's just like a home game for the Pies. The roos supporters will be terribly outnumbered and the pie army will think they are back in town after last week's win. Really tough game to have a wager on.
I really dont reckon the mcg is a home ground advantage for any side unless they are playing an interstate team or unless the Demons are playing there. They absolutely love playing at the 'G!!

The roos are an interstate side, but they play home games in melbourne which is why this is messed up for me.

No, the Kangaroos aren't an interstate side Mr J. They're a Melbourne team. It's just that they play some games in Canberra which is a pretty good ground for them.

Ah. I just assumed they were a 'canberra' side that played alot of home games in melbourne. Neutral venue then.

I suggest a 3 point bonus to the Kangaroos.
But also suggest you go back and read Mug Punta's comment in this thread.

As a neutral venue and roos modified to a melbourne team I get Roos -12 as my line, so no bet for me.

I dont know if collingwood can match norths midfield .If they can and magpie Rocca plays well then of course Collingwood but for me formline says Kangas who havent played fantastically but a side winning without playing at their best is a good sign.Having said that they are pretty well at full strength but any injuries will expose a great lack of depth, but untill then I'll stick with the roos even though I wasnt on them in rounds 1 and 2.
