TABQ Results. 28% Profit. Not to be scoffed at. A good System/Method if it can be maintained.I would be pleased if I could get that each week.

Shy,
keep posting if you can - the results were great. Is this a common result for you?
Cheers,

Well done, Shy. A top result.
But in my humble opinion it is going to be very difficult making a long term profit if a 90% sucess rate only returns 28% POT.
It is exceptionally difficult to make a profit backing short priced tote favourites for the win because of the big unders compared to betting ring prices.
The same applies backing them for the place but even more so because rounding down absolutely destroys dividends.
Eg. $1.19 becomes a $1.10 payout and rounding down has cost the punter nearly 50% of their winnings!!
Of course if you can get an 80% place strike rate long term, it is a different matter.
Anyway, Good Luck.

Shy,
I think you forgot about the Heavy tracks at Cheltenham and Caulfield. Chelt. downgraded to heavy after race 2 and Caulfield after race 5.
If I understand you correctly your selections were "selections for a place providing track not heavy."
That unfortunately removed 4/4 placegetters.
You still made a profit with 5/6 coming in and 16.67% on turnover.
Bye, Marcus.

Thanks for the feedback....I didn't forget about the heavy tracks, Researcher kindly did that summary. So Saturday was quite a disappointing day. I usually only have between 4 and 10 selections over a whole week but the divs have averaged out at 1.55 so far and I improve on this by selecting the best paying divs on the 3 main tabs. I am basically a coward of a punter who doesn't tolerate losing streaks of 2 or 3 very well.... I have found I am happy to put 10 times the amount for a place on my boring safe selections than for a win and since doing this have made more profit than I ever did looking for win value even though the POT is less. I have found that one of the most crucial aspects of profit making is finding your comfort zone so you can follow through. Better than interest from the bank any day.

Yo all,
The process of rounding down the divvies is nothing short of disgraceful and when the powers that be (And the bookies themselves) finally get to their desired state of tote only betting, the takeout will stay at the present level for about 2 minutes flat before we see the percentage upped to somewhere in the vicinity of 30% (As I believe it is in the countries where there are no bookies).
Considering that this is largely considered our national pastime (Punting on the Gee Gees), perhaps it is time we all started to lobby our local Pollies.
Jose'.

Sorry Shy.
How silly of me not to notice the summary was done by Researcher.

Shy,
Will you continue to post your tips? I, like you also bet for the place, so i'm interested in how you came about your method and success rate. An insight into other punters workings would be very interesting.
Cheers!
