Even in apology you are a cheeky bugger arent you.
Forget about it, Rabbitz is right, life is to short to worry about something that really means very little to me.
I was only trying to keep my thread going to make myself a better punter, but, I reckon im wasting too much time and energy on it when I've got plenty of other everyday stresses in my life.
Good luck to all punters on this forum and I hope you all have a great year on the punt.
I will probly only use this site when im bored or have some free time on my hands.
Cheers Mug Punta (Matt)

Matt,

I got taught a real good lesson today by my better half. I showed her all these posts etc and I'll post the details tonight - but she got me a beauty and she's on your side in this matter.

Without being a smart arse, I do apologize. Read more later.

A little bit of humble pie was eaten today:

A bit of background info. By nature I'm a very confident person and one of my worst traits is intolerance of imperfection. I am a perfectionist when it comes to matters of the punt. I was not born like this - it evolved over a number of years after I initially did a lot of money from the age of 19 to 22.

I used to be your typical mug punter who was always looking for the "holy grail" - the "easy" way to make a living off the punt. Sadly I did not find it. But I did find someone who was a complete professional betting on greyhounds at the old Gabba track in Brissie. He took me aside and showed me how to do videos on dogs and I learnt more from him in 12 months than I could have on my own in a lifetime. Since then I have become a perfectionist in doing form on dogs and AFL. Don't touch the NRL although I don't mind the game.

Because of this insistence on leaving no stone unturned, I have become intolerant of people who I percieve as being like I was. A bit like the saying, "Nothing worse than a reformed smoker..."

So it is with that background in mind that you may be able to understand where I was coming from when Matt questioned my judgement about the Freo/Richmond game.
I back plenty of losers as well and I had a lucky weekend although I still believe you make your own luck in this game.

Well anyway I showed my other half all these posts and she read them and I asked her what she thought of them.
Her answer: "Get your gear off and get in the bedroom now."
Well, Here we go I thought - you beauty. This one has come out of the blue!
Anyway, I won't go into all the details suffice to say it was the most unbelievable session I'd had in a long time. I'm all done and stuffed and she says: "Where are you going? I haven't even started yet."
I mumble something to the effect of "I'm stuffed" and she says "Well I'm not and if you stop now it's a pretty poor effort." I was gone though and had to concede defeat.
I said "What was all that about?" She says " You're not a &&&&ing pefectionist at everything are you smart arse. That was a pitiful display. Now go and apologise to that fellow and admit you took it too far."

So Matt,

I'm sorry. I went too far and my ego got the better of me.

Does she know you wrote that? Hee Hee
I must admit I'm A far better humper than punter but all I have to show for that is kids (mind you they are worth more than all the money on this world to me)

HEY EVERYONE I BELIEVE THE ROCK IS GENUINLY SORRY AND MADE A GOOD EFFORT IN HIS OWN WAY OF APOLOGISING AND I RECKON ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SEE THAT IS STUBBORN.( HAVING SAID THAT I WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE HE BAGGED) HOWEVER I RECKON WE CAN ALL LEARN A BIT FROM ROCK
AS INDEED HE CAN LEARN FROM US.

Apology accepted, that is one of the best stories i've heard in a long time.
Your missus is a corker and you are lucky to have a good woman like that.
I still don't think i'll spend as much time in this forum though because it is and will always probly be just a hobby for me.
I have a lot of other interests outside of gambling and I think i will just have the odd bet here and there when I like something.

You are obviously pretty astute and Im sure all the punters here can utilise your advice but just remember if someone doesn't agree with you it's not personal and it's not an attack on you. Cheers MP
