GP,
Well done.
6 winners from 13 bets, 1 scratching
46% win strike rate
153% profit betting for a win only.
$10 win bet on each would have yielded a profit of $199.
153% per week must be heaps per annum????

I checked Equine Investor's 18 tips.
None of them won. Only a couple ran a place at skinny odds.
Poor investing. Almost as bad as HIH and Onetel.
EDITED.
Well done to Numerator for tipping Maltese Beauty - maybe some of these so-called investors should take your advice and treat racing as fun - which it is meant to be.

Grasscutter - I haven't disappeared - I just don't bet or spend much time at the computer on the weekends as I like to spend time with my wife and kids. My "system" works better during the week anyway - had a great week last week
GP - congratulations on the good result.

That's ok.
I would be interested in hearing Equine Investor's explanation for such a bad day though? 18 picks for 0 wins - something wrong with your system/method.
Everyone has bad days, but 0/18 is terrible.
Even an ordinary system should pick at least 1 or 2 out of 18.

Hi guys....no I haven't jumped off the bridge just yet.
The strike rate from Saturday was woeful - no excuses.
One bad day does not a loser make, nor one good day a winner make either.
18 selections, one scratching, 17 losers was terrible, however I won't be changing anything as this was out of the ordinary and some selections ran powerful races and just missed out at good odds. As I say no excuses and I will be following up on some horses in the next few weeks.

GP must have been right.
What are the odds of buying 17 houses and they all got burnt down?
A punt must be a gamble.

Not necessarily Grasscutter - it depends on what types of bets you are targetting. My own system only gave me 1 winner from 32 bets last Thursday (with 24 straight losses) BUT I bet win only on horses paying between $8 and $20 so you have to allow for this type of losing streak. The other 3 betting days last week were all very good so I ended up well in front for the week. This is why I say that each of my individual bets is a gamble but my system is actually an investment - it gives me a positive return in the long run.
Happy investing/gambling

Good on you becareful...that's exactly the right way to go about it!
Some members only want to see others lose and gloat about it if they have one winning day...that's a gamble!
You and I are of the same mindset, horseracing is a longterm investment, not a get rich quick scheme which is doomed to fail in the longrun.
