I have ,after watching The Brisbane Lions lose again have come to the following conclusion.
The trophy cabinet is full,the carpenters have left the building so another premiership cup in 2005 would only create problems as there would be nowhere to display it.
The st George Dragons had the same problem in the sixties,their trophy cabinet down at Kogarah had capacity for 11 trophies only
Lucky Riewoldt got injured otherwise Lions would be 0-5

FINALLY!!!

I came to that conclusion during the final quarter of last year's Grand Final. I knew right then that they had missed their last chance of victory for a few years and they wouldn't be challenging for the title this year.

A bit sad for a Lions fan, but we've had a great run Rabbitz. You can't win every year.

No Sportz you misunderstand,if they find a new carpenter their problems could be over,because then they would be obliged.If someone would have told you after the 2001 grandfinal that these two teams ,i.e.Lions and Bombers would be playing a bottom of the table clash 4 years later you might have questioned their sanity

Yes I know. That's two wins in a row. Not big odds but still better than nothing. Both times I didn't even know it was running until I heard the tote update on the radio just before the race.

By the way, Brisbane and Collingwood won the wooden spoon in 98 and 99 respectively and if someone had told you then that they would play off in 2 straight grand finals just a few years later, maybe you would have questioned their sanity too. See, it goes in cycles.
