Hey William glad to see you and Glen are still here...hope all is well and that they are coming in for you!!!

Western Spur started training and will be ready for some winter racing 1800m and beyond so fingers crossed lol...

I have been getting the odd win on the GGs so lets hope it continues...Mastermind should go well fresh at Gosford R8 (Beadman on board so will be short)...tomorrow!

Keep up the great work and will catch up with you later...

Welcome back, William. Good to see you. Thanks, Desi, I've been here, just lurking in the background. Today is a Holiday here in the U.S., Memorial Day; I think thats like your Anzac Day in Australia. I have Sale and Gosford to bet on tonight. Thanks for the tip, Desi.

Regards,

Glenn

Glen, Think this was Williams latest post...

FYI, taking Gos R6 50c trf 2/16 (first and 2nd) and field 3rd...and Sale R8 3/5 to win and 1/3/4/5/11 2nd and 3rd...and of course Mastermind (and El Zahia Sale R7) which is already shortened so thats up to you lol...

Im not a big bettor but its always good to get a return no matter what the amount...esp after a very bad Saturday on the ggs and Sports...

Take care and will give you some of my thoughts on Wednesdays lot if u want while the Man William appears to be away...

EEk, so much for the exotics but thats the way it goes lol...El Zahia and Mastermind (albeit at very short odds) both won so thats a start lol!!!

Will have some 4 you tomorrow Glen in the morning....go you good thing!!! William where are you?

Hello Desi:

I had to go to bed after the 7th at Sale. It was already past midnight here, and an old man must rest, plus I had to work today. U.S. punters wern't given the 8th at Gosford. I would appreciate any thoughts for today's racing. Us North American players are limited to Randwick and Sandown for Wednesday's racing. Thanks again.

Glenn

Looks as though William is taking a break...well deserved and XTP and Sportz are providing great information and tips for us...its all good!!!

FYI, looking to back at Randwick trif (50c) R5 3 and 6 for 1st and 2nd and field for 3rd...

Kingify EW in Sandown R6...and Ipswich EW on Race 6 Bold Sweeper...and Belmont R6 Bolasque for a couple each way...

Good luck Glen!!!

Nice work on Randwick race 5. The #9, who ran 3rd was 15-1 on my TAB.

Yeah, GREAT STUFF Desi. 3 & 6 duly came home 1st and 2nd.

I've been having a bit of fun today with the field any2 bets that I like to use. A good example is Strathalbyn R1. I thought Euphemia was just about a certainty for a place, so I took it as a 'banker' with the field and got back $39.50 for my $13. That's just like getting $3.00 for the place on a horse which only pays $2.20 the win!!! Same thing in Ipswich R7. I thought Jaegers was a sure thing for a place, so again I took it as a banker from the field. Great result. $42.80 back from my $11 bet. That's the equivalent of getting $3.90 for the place on a $1.90 winner. I must admit it doesn't always work out that well, but you do get some nice results.

Thanks Glen and Sportz..cant keep away from the exotics...unfortunately the others did not come thru...lol but not to worry Im no longer a big spender-so happy with half of $198.40 for trifecta...

FYI, I have been blackbooking horses since the beginning of last year with varying results but once I started being specific with my comments such as distance, rider, track etc...started picking best chances for better strike rate and returns...might be even more selective with my picks...I note 'Im No Square' won (one of my picks) but I was too late to offer it...2 hour time delay from over east Sportz is a pain.

WA TAB doesnt offer any 2 bets, Sportz but that sounds like the kind of option that suits me and my picks...taken with the favourite could return some nice divvies...where is this option available? Really like the concept!

Desi,

Unitab have 'Any2' bets and Tabcorp has the 'Duet' which is basically the same thing. I'd suggest all TABs will probably have something like it soon.

These were the 'field' Any2 bets I had today:

IPSW R7-4 Jaegers/Field (Out $11, In $42.80)
RAND R3-3 I'm No Square/Field (Out $8, In $6.70)
SAND R5-8 Hurricane Gust/Field (Out $10, In $10.70)
SAND R8-3 Willie Command/Field (Out $9, In $28.30)
STRA R1-8 Euphemia/Field (Out $13, In $39.50)

Total: Out $51, In $128.00

As you can see, it doesn't work out well in every race. In I'm No Square's race, I actually lost money and in Hurricane Gust's race, I only made 70cents. The other 3 races more than made up for it. Remember, to win this bet, all you have to do is pick a placegetter, but you can often get back quite a bit more than the place dividend. For example, today, if I had simply put the corresponding $ amounts on each of those 5 horses for a place, I would have got back just $70.10 for my $51. That's a BIG difference.

Thanks Sportz...not sure about registering with the other TABS but like the idea of the Any 2 bet because I like finding sound but value place bets.

Today Im looking at favourite R4 Graciously (9) at Cranbourne short priced favourite to beat (2) and (5) which I will probably box...and Race 8 Trifecta 50c (5) Curtain Twitcher (10) Cape Belle and (2) Kingston Bird for 1st and 2nd with the field for 3rd (which would be a good Any 2 bet)...lol

Good luck Andy, Sportz sorry re late entry...and if you bet on Kiwi races No (9) Danzig Race 8 back on a wet track to beat No (10) Linda Cropp's ride Misaki...

Ouch...got my butt kicked today but its a good learning thing for me cos theres a certain accountibility taken on board when posting so I reckon that Im going to cut it down to the strongest prospects and betting every day for me has been a losing strategy lol...

Tomorrow is another day...,hope you had good wins Sportz and Glen...

Desi,

They look okay. I agree with a few of those. I thought For You Dad might be good value, but it's currently showing just $2.20. I also like Lady Briony. A few others I'm considering are Werribee 2-9, Taree 8-2 and Rockhampton 6-2. Basically though I'm more concentrating on tomorrow's races.
