What a race,,you can hardly rule out any of the runners..
Bush Honey couldnt have been more impressive last start and will race handy..
Devastating ..was unlucky last start
perlin ..was still finding the line well but had a good run..
Portland Singha ..wrong part of the track last start ,,showed enough previous to be right in this..
if its wet it brings Cedar manor and tickle into it..
i like pacific Dancer but think he's a run or 2 short.....
hard race :)

Hard race alright I also hope to be able to get to brissie this weekend to see the race mainly because the old fella is in it I have never been to any of the metro tracks only ever been to the Rockhampton track where I live so to say I am excited would be an understatement just have to get there that is the main problem at this point.
I didn't like Pacific Dancers last run much really didn't seem to have that burst he had been showing previously Zingam and Cedar Manor are the 2 I like plus I will be having a bet on Raw whatever happens anyway.

Portland Singa and Zingam to do it for stable chuck. I'm spending big money for my standards on PS each way in this race

If portland singa draws a nice alley and relaxes i think will be hard to beat. Natural Blitz seems to have found his best, and if dry could give it a shake.

Been out of racing for a couple of weeks but can anyone tell me why i can get $17 fixed odds on perlin? the horse left for a brissy campaign in red hot form and now is about 10th favourite. Is it just no good or doubtful?

It's $3.80 favourite, not $17. You must be looking at the odds for the BRISBANE Cup.

FOREST JIM ZINGAM and SUNDAY SERVICE are all out of the cup. If PLATINUM SCISSORS can run out the 2200 (and I think he can) will give this race a mighty shake. Also like RAW INSTINCT and BUSH HONEY in what looks to be a very open race.

Zingam was always doubtful...i was quite confident Guy would opt for the brissy cup instead

maybe he thinks Bush Honey will be to hard to beat ??
This is the way i see the race now with the barrier draw..
Natural Women to lead with Perlin in the box seat just behind her...Bush Honey to be just outside Perlin with Portland Singha 3 back on the rails with Devastating on his outside..
I worry about Portland singha getting in traffic.....so i think Bush Honey will keep Perlin against the rails and sneak a break with Perlin having to come across heels...i dont think he has the sprint in him..so i think Devastating will appreciate the room he'll get racing on the outside and be chasing Bush Honey down the straight.......If Portland Singha gets out he's the danger ...he showed that 2 starts ago beating both Bush Honey and Devastating...
rekon Pacific dancer will need the run but it wouldnt surprise to see him sneak a place ..
if Natural woman can have it her own way up front could also sneak a place..
but it looks like for me
Bush Honey
Devastating
Portland Singha
Perlin
The only worry with my little speed map is Platnum Scissors ..i'm still unsure where he fits in..
hmmmm

Maverick where did you see the rsults of the barrier draw mate been looking around they don't seem to have it anywhere.
Looks like I am off to brissie to booked the flights today can't wait really. Looks like we will be going to the Stradbroke and Brisbane Cup to in a couple of weeks.

I just read that myself to Tenacious Spirit maybe Mav has some kind of inside info that he would like to possibly pass on ;)

Heard on radio tab today that perlin had barrier 2 ,,,,portland singha had 1 ,,,
barrier draw was 12 today ... can't remember the rest as i was working ..pretty sure it was 12 today ...
i'll see if i can find it..
maverick1993
24th May 2005, 07:30 PM
yep definetly today....12 noon at some function at Suncorp Stadium..its on the doomben calendar..
i remember tony clement saying Perlin with the perfect draw might shorten alittle ...and he also said he wasnt sure portland singha would appreciate the inside...
Doomben cup start has a long run to the first corner so barriers won't mean an awfull lot anyway..
I cant find the barrier draw anywhere listed...but i'm sure someone more computer literate like Sportz can find it..
just call me scoop mav :)

ohh well can't find it...Maybe they were talking hypothetically ???? who knows ...if they were it means i've wasted a good hour of my life ..
...dam lucky i don't bet until i know track conditions..
weird though ?? maybe i am psycic ...just wish it was for winners not barrier draws :)

That Steve Hewlet that runs the Doomben Punters club there should see me..
he's a shocker,,,
my first tip for Saturday is to stay away from him..its actually funny to listen to all the mugs give him heaps at the end of the day..
gotta be crazy to run something like that...atleast in cyber land you cant get your head punched in..

I'm not a fan of him when he's on the radio (he sounds like he thinks he knows everything) but I thought he usually did okay with the punters club. It only costs $10 for a ticket and I'm sure that a couple of times recently they've turned that into a fair bit more. Not everyone has loads of money to put on big First 4s and Trifectas, so I reckon it's not bad for just $10 to be in something like that and have a bit of fun and a run for your money for the whole day.

By the way Mav, you seem to have made a mistake on the NRL Tipping Comp thread. If you read this before game time tonight, could you fix it up please?
maverick1993
25th May 2005, 04:51 PM
Thank god for that...thought i was going crazy... :)
thought Bush Honey had 4 though...will have to rethink the speed map..
regards the punters club..
When theres a jackpot for the first four then it might be worth a go...but every time i've been there he's had a shocker....maybe i'm just a bad luck ..
thanks Sportz i'll fix that nrl thing..

I like where Raw has drawn not sure if I like Munce on him though he is a great rider of front running horses but he just doesn't seem to get alot of others home hopefully he can pull out a big one this weekend anyway.

Tough race this one....i like Pacific Dancer but i'm thinking he might be a run short but has the class to flog this lot..and Dwyer is a top trainer.....Bush Honey was very impressive last start and will be even more improved but does have some weight..Devastating looked good last start and has Beadman ..Portaland Singha walked past Devatating and Bush Honey a couple of starts ago and should do no work at all and does have a good sprint...
weird how this race is not always won by true stayers..The blinkers on perlin might be a masterstroke as long as though dont walk up front.. im thinking Penetentry and Natural woman will keep it at a decent speed.
its all to hard for me..there will be easier races ..
think i'll just have some fun with 1st 4's and tri's ect.. :)
