HELP please with stats

I am working on a method and need to know the top ten placegetters in TAB ratings from January 2007.
i.e. How many times rating 100 has won and placed
How many times 99 has won and placed etc. down to rating 90.

Could anyone out there please tell me a service perhaps on the net that could help me with this. I would be very grateful to anyone that could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

RYSTAN, wesmip1 is posting some stats later in the week on my Radio Tabs thread, should cover most of what you want! for what it's worth I've found that the ratings perse' don't show a profit, but if correlated with other selection methods they tend to sort the wheat from the chaff.

In other words say you have a selection method that is showing near to break even, then you introduce a further filter, i.e. no bet if less than 97 rating (example) you will find an immediate improvement in S/R.

Here are some stats to work with.

100 pts 20% SR.

90% of all winners have 90Pts+

A TAB Fav in a field where 90% of field are 90Ptrs+ the Fav SR drops to 19% chance of winning instead of the usual 30%

The TAB Fav SR is 39% where only 50% of the field has 90Pts+

The SR drops from 100Pts down.

Try not to bet your selection if its showing 89Pts or less.
If you still feel you wish to bet that selection, it must be double digit odds.

Cheers.

I've got the stats for Strike rats and profit for win and place for every unitab rating.

Again just remind me on the weekend and I will post them up.

Good luck.

Such a prompt and great response, I am overwhelmed by your kindness....all of you and I thank you.

I am fiddling with a trifecta method and yes, I have filters in mind but need the stats.

Thankyou Wesquip for the stats (in advance).

Sorry about the formatting but its hard to get it nice on this forum without it being an attachment. So if your interested look at the attachment. Slightly different headings but you will work out what is what.

This is over 21,916 races.

I hope this helps out. I am happy to provide stats which I have as needed.

Good Luck.

Wesmip1, thanks for the info.

If possible, could you have a look at races where there are three 100-pointers as to how the fave fares? The very few that I've noticed, the fave has been beaten. For example, Casino race 6 yesterday.

Thanks,
Michael.

Thankyou Wesmip, (and I didn't even have to remind you).

You have saved me so much work and I appreciate you posting these for me.

I will report back when I get it all sorted out.

wesmip1 26th May 2007 10:27 AM

michaelg,

Yes you are correct in that the fav gets beaten.

The results were that the fav hit a strike rate of 25% and had a loss on turnover of about 24% which when converted to betfair odds means about a 10% profit.

For you info there are roughly 21 races like this a month.

Good luck
