Hi,

This is a new idea that runs along the lines of Football tipping comps, only we're using horses of course.

For the next few weeks (until the end of the Sydney carnival), I'll post a series of match races, where you have to pick the best 'team' of horses. The team which contains the highest placed horse will be the winner. It might sound confusing, but it's not really. I'll post this week's races and I'm sure you'll soon get the idea.

MATCH 1 - PARRAMATTA LEAGUES CLUB STAKES (ROSE R4)

HOME: SHE'S MEANER / SAMANTHA MISS / PORTILLO
AWAY: SUGAR BABE / GLOWLAMP / DELTA GIRL

MATCH 2 - VEOLIA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES STAKES (ROSE R5)

HOME: TRIPLE HONOUR / HURRIED CHOICE / MURTAJILL / CRAVINGS
AWAY: SERIOUS SPEED / MEGATIC / ELECTROMOTIVE / CENT PER CENT

MATCH 3 - SA OAKS (MORP R4)

HOME: MOMENT IN TIME / ALL ABOUT ANNIE / TRULY BEAUTIFUL
AWAY: QUEEN OF QUEENS / EASTER BUNNY / INKSTER

MATCH 4 - CLEANEVENT STAKES (ROSE R6)

HOME: COOLROOM CANDIDATE / LES ROSES / IS AMAZING / THRONE INN
AWAY: RIO OSA / GAMBLE ME / LITTER / DANASIERRA

MATCH 5 - ROSEHILL GUINEAS (ROSE R7)

MATCH 6 - SA DERBY (MORP R6)

HOME: ZARITA / EL DAANA / ARAZAMATAZ
AWAY: ZAGREB / MEGA BOSS / VIGOR

MATCH 7 - GOODWOOD HCP (MORP R7)

HOME: HERE DE ANGELS / TRAMUNTANA / LET GO THOMMO / MONET RULES
AWAY: PUBLISHING / DIPLOMATIC FORCE / IMMORTALITY / CARGO CULT

MATCH 8 - AJAX STAKES (ROSE R9)

HOME: FRIDAY CREEK / BARLINNIE / FALAISE / MR UBIQUITOUS
AWAY: BOBADAH / GERMAN CHOCOLATE / VIEWED / JUST MAMBO

Now what you have to do is pick the team which will have the highest placed horse out of all those listed. Now, obviously, if one of your horses wins the race, then you win, simple as that. But your horses don't necessarily need to win the race. All they have to do is finish ahead of all the horses in the other team, and you win.

So, simply post your selections like this:

1. HOME
2. AWAY
3. HOME
4. HOME
5. HOME
6. AWAY
7. HOME
8. AWAY

You'll be given a point for each correct selection and if you manage to get all 8 right for a "perfect round", then that's a bonus 4 points.

If there are any scratchings amongst the teams, then that is just bad luck and you'll have to depend on what horses you have left. If ALL of the horses in one team are scratched however, then that match race is abandoned.

Selections must be in by midnight, Friday night.
