On the watch for any improvement from the lightly raced CONTACT POINT. This fella has had some 8 starts since an injury enforced 12 months spell and is a 2400M winner at Randwick.

FREE AT LAST does look very nicely placed

Contact Point is now a 6 year old and it is unlikely that he will regain his pre-injury form. I remember his performance at Randwick over 2,400m on 8 February 2003 where he showed astonishing acceleration, coming wide around the turn, gathering the leaders in easily and then blowing away a restricted grade field by over 4 lengths with Chris Munce on for Gai Waterhouse. At that stage he looked like a star stayer in the making. His last five runs in Perth, however, are around 10 lengths short of Group 2 company and he has no hope on Wednesday.

The market in agreement Filante - no hope odds.

Again I have to ask, why is this race on a Wednesday?

Paddy,

I wouldn't hurry to take the $126, but a line bet at $1.90 with 15 lengths head start might be interesting!

Cheers

Have to go True Steel here given a better ride in the Fruit and Vege he wins it again there was no reason that horse needed to be as far in front as it was sure turning the straight it was good to have a break but right from the word go
