SIGN UP FOR NEW TIPPING COMP
 

Okay, I thought this could create a bit of interest. I reckon it'll be fun.

A tipping comp where you are basically competing against just one other tipster each week on a round robin basis. It will work exactly like the AFL, NRL or S14. So we will have a set number of tipsters (hopefully 12, 14 or 16) and there will be either 6, 7 or 8 separate "matches" each week. You will earn competition points for beating your opponent just like they do in the Football competitions. And there will be a weekly competition ladder with wins, losses, % etc. Then at the end of the preliminary games, the top tipsters will go through to the final series which will be played out over the 4 days of the Flemington Melbourne Cup Carnival, with the Grand Final on the last day of the carnival..

I still have to work out a few things about how it will run, but as a basic idea, what do you think?

Please sign on here if you're interested. First in, best dressed, but please be sure that you can compete for the whole duration of the comp. I'm thinking it will run from Saturday June 3 right through to Saturday November 11.

People I'd be looking to be involved are Chuck, Maverick1993, Svenvlad, Raw Instinct, Crash, luv2bet, feather, Real Deal, Testarossa, Horse Whisperer, Jim Curran etc etc....

Well, if everyone feels the same, I guess I could decide to start it later on and make it a shorter comp. But I'm definitely going to have the finals during the Melbourne Cup carnival.

Never been one to tell you how or what to do sportz but i have sort of given racing away for a bit till very early spring.

Would definately be in when the good melb and syd horses start coming round again.

So, would you be interested if we started at the beginning of August or something like that? That was my original plan.

Hmmm. Okay, well I've had a rethink. I've decided it's probably best to wait until the start of August to begin this comp. By that time, everyone will be raring to go and the season won't be too long.

Sounds like fun Sportz and it's something different. I'm not going anywhere and there is not much else happening this time of year. Lets wait to see if you get some interest before you can the idea of an early start.

Don't know. I might try a shortened version or something like that in the meantime, but I think I'll probably leave the full blown tipping comp until the start of the new racing season in August.

Okay, who's up for some state of origin type interstate tipping rivalry?

I'm thinking that we could put together some state "teams" from the tipsters we have on here. Certainly should be able to assemble a good team from Qld, NSW and probably Victoria. Possibly even WA. Don't know about SA though.

So, could everyone that's interested in this next little tipping comp please tell me the state they want to represent and then I'll try to sort something out.

Qld for me Sportz :) ,,,although i'd look at Sa if you had to many queenslanders lining up.

yeah, but the WA guys usually just huddle around their racing in the west thread and don't tend to associate themselves with us lesser mortals

I'm in for NSW ty,,I really dont know why we are bothering though.The rest of them dont know chut from clay.Perhaps if we get a substantial handicap those poor b's from the backward states might stand some chance.

Being a Collingwood supporter, the Vic's are a top chance. Naturally Collingwood supporters are exceptional punters [good at anything they do], so If there is more than one of us...... the comp. will be a walk in the park !!!

Okay guys, sorry about all these damn questions, but I'm trying to work something out.

What I also want to know is, are there any of you who DON'T like betting in the state that you've told me you want to represent. For example, is there someone from NSW, who really doesn't like betting on Sydney racing?
