THE 'TREBLE YELL' COMPETITION

Welcome to the ‘Treble Yell’ Competition – greetings to Billy Idol in HK !

The rules to the comp

1) Each punter will get $20 to spend on a TREBLE from the NOMINATED meetings below

2) All trebles must be for $1 (you can use any combo as long as it is $20 or less)

Eg #1. 1st leg - 1.2.3.4 eg#2. 1st leg – 1.2

2nd leg - 1.2.3.4.5 2nd leg – 3.4.5

3rd leg - 1 3rd leg – 6.7.8

(4x5x1 = $20) (2x2x3=$18)

3) Punters that get at least 1 ‘live’ leg up the previous week will get to spend $25 the following week as opposed to the regulation $20

4) No bonus $ will accrue into other weeks – you’ll either be betting with $20 or $25

5) Punters will also get $1 to spend on a top selection in each leg of the treble (selections MUST be in your treble)Eg. R5 – Makybe Diva; R6 – Fields of Omagh; R7 – Rubitano

6) **HOWEVER WINNINGS FOR TOP SELECTIONS WILL ONLY COUNT FOR A ‘LIVE’ LEG -This will ensure each winner gets a true ‘TREBLE YELL’ from the punter

7) **Even if one of your top selections doesn’t salute as long as your treble is still ‘live’ your later top selections count

8) Any scratchings in your treble or top selections and you’ll get the Unitab substitute

9) Points will be awarded according to dividends taken from Unitab www.tabonline.com.au (as per the Sportz’s ‘National Punting League’)

10) All selections must be in 30 minutes before the first race in the treble – you’ll have to look on the website on the Friday/Saturday as I won’t be putting up the fields – go to www.tabonline.com.au – press the racing icon and then look down the bottom to the doubles/trebles icon

11) Just type the Leg No & Saddlecloth numbers as shown above and Race # and horse names for your top selections

12) Due care must be given when entering and calculating your selections – if you go over the $20 limit your treble is invalid (3x4x2=$24 – INVALID!)

The Competition will run over the next 8 Saturdays:

Sat 21 Apr – Morphetville (Tokyo City Cup)

Sat 28 Apr – Eagle Farm (Sir Byrne Hart Stakes)

Sat 5 May – Gold Coast (Hollindale Stakes)

Sat 12 May – Doomben (BTC Cup)

Sat 19 May – Doomben (Doomben Cup)

Sat 26 May – Doomben (Doomben 10,000)

Sat 2 June – Eagle Farm (Queensland Oaks)

Sat 9 June – Eagle Farm (Stradbroke Hcp)

NB. The $1 bet will provide encouragement and progress on the leaderboard but should ensure that those who get the trebles up will win this comp

GOOD LUCK AND MAY WE ALL GIVE A ‘TREBLE YELL’ OVER THE COMING WEEKS!

Rule #2 should have read like this (but i'm sure you all probably got the drift):

Might have to have a look at trebles again. I don't know. I used to take doubles and trebles many years ago, but these days I don't even think about them. I've just had a look at the results for Saturday and I would have got the treble in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for a relatively small outlay. Damn.

Chuck 16th April 2007 07:57 AM

I'm in :D

Spartacus 19th April 2007 10:21 PM

Cmon guys. Need some more goers for this comp.

Otherwise i think crash, sportz and myself will be a monty for a podium finish!

crash 20th April 2007 08:22 AM

I think more punters will jump on board once we kick off Spartacus.

Anyone know which races belong to the treble in Morphetville ?

Chuck 20th April 2007 08:28 AM

5,6,7 crash

Don't worry Spartacus, i'm sure more will enter on game day and or next week

Is it just me, or is this thread 'not there' until you look on page 2 and then go back to page 1 and there it is !!! ???

Might explain why there are so few takers for the comp.

Sorry Mav, can't have treble for $2

Rule 2) All trebles must be for $1

(you can use any combo as long as it is $20 or less)
Eg #1.
1st leg - 1.2.3.4
2nd leg - 1.2.3.4.5
3rd leg - 1 3rd leg – 6.7.8
(4x5x1 = $20)
rules are rules (keeps everyone under same punting conditions)

Spartacus 22nd April 2007 01:38 PM

Well done to all who snagged the treble!

Luckily a few of us who didn't got the first leg
and have earnt an extra $5 to spend

Sorry i wasn't online yesterday as went to cranbourne races
but trust everyone clear on the rules now:

Only live bets for $1 top selections earn money
All trebles for $1 & be careful of calculations
as you'll be wasting a selection (or three) Raw!

Spartacus

Just a question on the rules.

If I take the field in 1 leg (like I did last weekeend) does that not count for getting $25 to spend the next week? Cause that gives you 1 live leg

Wise One

Horse Whisperer 27th April 2007 11:46 AM

R5 1 9 (9 TOP PICK)
R6 1 2 8 16 (2 TOP PICK)

No it doesn't !
'Live' means (alive - living on to fight another leg)
As you took the field in your 2nd leg and the first one lost it was no longer 'live'.
By 'live' we mean your treble 'lives' on to fight another leg.
This goes for your $1 bets too - if your treble goes down in flames, the later legs are no longer 'live'.

I suppose you could get around my rules by taking the field in the 1st leg and ensuring you get the $25 the following week - but that would leave you pretty skinny for the rest of your treble.

Hope that clears things up a bit anyway.

By the way everyone - the treble this week is in Eagle Farm
Good luck to you all
