BRISSY WINTER CARNIVAL tipping comp.
 

This should add something for the winter hours.

Rules:

1. Select one runner for each race on the card starting this Sat. 10th. May
2. If any of your runners are scr. you get the favorite unless you have a sub.
3. Scoring will be based on $1 e/w for each selection.
4. Nominate one selection as a special. If it wins you get payed double for it.
5. There will be a weekly leader board and a cumulative leader board.

6. All bets must be in 30 min. before the first race, if you are away or miss the 30 min. rule you get the favorite for each race but no special. If either of these things happen 2 weeks in a row, you get nothing the 2nd. week.

Unitab results because they are easiest to use.

I had a Brissy winter carnival comp. last year and from memory I think it ends at Caloundra for the Caloundra Cup.

I am in.

Caloundra cup is on 28th June. It will be great if the comp finished on 5th July for the Queensland Cup meeting. However, it is up to you, your comp after all.

I've had a bit of a look and the Carnival ends July 5th with the Queensland Cup.

I should also mention as something of a first here [maybe], I'm going to try and organize a $50 free bet for the winner. I'm not sure I can pull this off but I think there is a reasonable chance. Don't be disappointed if I can't, but get into the comp. because like I said there is a reasonably chance of pulling it off. I'll let you all know ASAP how I go.

Count me in Crash, as a suggeston when you miss a week tipping you get the same as the lowest score for that week, this way you don't make any ground on the other players how has made the effert to tip (you may get 3,4 winners with Fav)

Hi Crackone,
I gave the above rule careful consideration. 'Lowest score' would be zero and if it wasn't, those who scored zero would complain.

The rule is there for the odd occasions when punters are away or for many possible reasons miss the 1/2 hour deadline and not be punished for it. There would no advantage in deliberately using this rule. Anyone can pick the most likely favorites [and many deliberately will] if they want to rely on favorites. The only penalty is the loss of a special and favorites don't pay well. Anyone doing it twice in a row will score nothing 2nd. time. No real advantage in using the rule deliberately.

I'll leave the rule in but thanks for your thoughts.
