The Path to Winning on Greyhounds

Race 1
Not enough revealed Form to make a decision

Race 2
Same reason to skip as the 1st race

Race 3
Very even Race probably good to lay the Favoured Runners---skip again

Race 4
Similar Race to the previous. Can't find an animal without a winning Chance.

moeee 22nd April 2009 12:06 PM

Race 5
The Question here is, what Price is Value about #7 LADY GAGA?
I figure about $1.50 is as short as you really wanna go about ANY animal.
Perhaps a little shorter on dogs like El Galo who get out in front.
I'll go $40 on Lady Gaga if $1.50 is available.
BLONK in all my Quaddies.

Race 6
Seeing as how there is only 1 Chance in the previous Leg of the Quaddie, can put the Field in this one, because they nearly all have a Chance.

Race 7
The RED Runner 1 out in the Quaddies will enable a couple of selections in the Last Leg
But it ain't no Special.

moeee 22nd April 2009 12:46 PM

Dont'cha just hate when ya take the FIELD in a Quaddie Leg, and the Even Money Favourite wins? :(

Race 8
Only 2 possible Chances in a very ordinary race.
Quinella of 1 and 6 for $20

moeee 22nd April 2009 05:56 PM

Ballarat

BALLARAT Race 5

I've got #2 GREAT THYME as being the leader being chased by the D Murray trained #4 APPLE CROSS.
#8 HAYDER BALE is easily the Best dog in the Race, but there is a slight Chance it could find trouble crossing from out in the Pink.

Box TRIFECTA 2,4,8 for $1
Box EXACTA 2,4,8 for $1

BALLARAT Race 6
I'm seeing #4 BO FRAZIER as hitting the front at the Home Straight to be chased home by #1

GLENABBEY TOM
QUINELLA 1 and 4 for $15

BALLARAT Race 8
This Race depends too much on luck.
I figure that #3 PARRACRYL will get the best of it with the slow runner inside it.
Box TRIFECTA of 2,3,4 for $1

Try Try Again 23rd April 2009 01:00 PM

Well done Moeee,

You must have won heaps!

schmucta80 23rd April 2009 01:34 PM

I agree, great tipping, well done

moeee 23rd April 2009 02:02 PM

Thank you guys.
I like when people acknowledge writings.
I hate when you write, and nobody reads it.
Especially if you picked well.

The problem with where I didn't do too good is that what I write ain't the only bets I have.

I had a Special of LADY GAGA at The Meadows and said I wanted $1.50 or more.
Well I tried to get $2 and then $1.90 and then $1.80 but by the time I dropped my asking Price the Race was run and I missed out on Getting Set and should have won $20 but got Nothing.
That $20 could have paid for my losing $20 Quinella.

Ballarat was half a Unit on the Quaddie, so that helped as well.
The heaps what it looked like I won, turns out to be about $50 :(

And that's where I muck up all the time.
I am Gamblerholic and just can't stick to my plan.
The extra Bets I have usually eat up my winnings, but I can't help myself.

Looking forward to tonights stuff.
See ya's all later.

moeee 23rd April 2009 03:49 PM

Bendigo Race 6

Dead set Match Race again with 2 speedy beginners testing each other.
#2 ESKIMO MAGGIE has drawn to lead from the inside draw.
#3 DANCING LIGHTS is the better dog, but will have to make up the ground.
I believe that the Post will arrive before the #3 does.
QUINELLA 2 and 3 for $20

Bendigo Race 8

I've got #8 HOT PUZZLE pinching a break here, but feeling the pinch late and will be overhauled easily by #7 BLACK EYE.
Might even miss a place.
TRIFECTA
7,8 - 7,8,2,3 - 7,8,2,3 for 50 cents

schmucta80 23rd April 2009 04:04 PM

I am liking all this discussion on the dogs, I think it's great to have some interest in them.

If Hot Puzzle leads Moeee, there is not a dog in that field that can run her down over the 545m at Bendigo.

And Eskimo Maggie, don't get me started on her lol, Dancing Lights should give her a cold, the only question mark is the long lay off, but loves this track and can run breath taking time.

It's great to bounce opinions off each other, no use stting on the fence either i say, have acrack, if your wrong, well better luck next time, but atleast you had a go.

moeee 23rd April 2009 05:02 PM

What I've got about HOT PUZZLE is that it isn't in the Form that it was in a few months ago.

Didn't get to watch Race 6 , but from what I heard,ESKIMO MAGGIE let me down after having every Chance.
At least I read the start right.

schmucta80 23rd April 2009 05:09 PM

Did not expect the 4 dog to lead Hot Puzzle, and in the end it was a good run to hit the front and then just get run down.

Thats greyhound racing

moeee 23rd April 2009 06:54 PM

SANDOWN Race 6

#4 ROWDY will appreciate the drop in Class and the Lack of early speed in this.
The only problem will be the #7 TURANZA BALE, who will be charging home at the finish.
#3 and #8 are both the potential placegetters.

TRIFECTA
4,7 - 4,7,3,8 - 4,7,3,8 for 50 cents
4,7 - 4,7 - 3,8 for $1
7 - 4,3,8 - 3,4,8 for $1
7 - 4 - 3,8 for $1

schmucta80 23rd April 2009 07:57 PM

Great result there Moeee, well done

moeee 23rd April 2009 08:21 PM

Thanks Shmucta.
Yep.
Done good that time :)

Lost about $100 at BENDIGO mucking around.
But picked up close on $500 at SANDOWN.

Was bit fortunate that the 3rd dog got through when I was watching it looked like I was not gonna get the Trifecta.

Managed to get Back $100 on the Quinella and had $15 on winner.

Thanks for tipping in that race Shmucta.
It made me study the race carefully and also it made me more confident of TURANZA BALE.
If you didn't tip it, I mighta thought it would get smashed early because it a slow beginner.

Apart from winning money, it feels so good when things go according to how you predict.

Still few more races left and I go try bit more.
Nice tipping yourself Shmucta.
You killin' 'em too :)
Never looked your interstate tips though.

Hubble 23rd April 2009 08:40 PM

Hi guys,

I am a newbie (this is my first post)

I just wanted to say a big cheers and well done moeee - very impressive

moeee 23rd April 2009 09:19 PM

Cheers to you Hubble.
Get into it and help us all find ways of making a dollar.

Are you a student or a teacher?
Some here think they know as much as they ever will.
But I think we can all learn a little more, or at least improve on whatever we do know.

Hubble 23rd April 2009 09:23 PM

I am very much a keen student!

Have a bit of a background in horse racing and have always loved a punt!

Thanks for the encouragement...

moeee 24th April 2009 09:05 AM

Here's something for the early risers.

Wangaratta Race 1
It's pretty easy to see #1 HAY AFFAIR leading all the way against these.
#2 NEAT AND SMART should be within placegetting distance.
The other 2 Chances are 3 and 6

TRIFECTA
1 - 2,3,6 - 2,3,6 for $1

goldmember 24th April 2009 09:32 AM

very wet there today mo.

I've seen a few dogs lose their footing in the first 5 races.
I managed the 2nd Race TRIFECTA after the winner fortunately recovered after losing his footing.

But the good thing is , it's WET for all greyhounds equally.
But I suppose it depends which way the runoff travels, which is usually toward the rails, but it doesn't necessarily mean that is where the worst going is.

goldmember 24th April 2009 10:38 AM

i got the tifecta's in R 3,4,5,6, the last 2 were easy and they paid that way, but the quaddie is starting to look a bit skinny

goldmember 24th April 2009 10:42 AM

Moee, i dowloaded IE 8 yesterday , but now every time i place a bet a new window pops up, any idea's how to stop it

goldmember 24th April 2009 10:51 AM

not ANY MORE

goldmember 24th April 2009 10:55 AM

Tracy's Delight (5) should lead, a very wide runner but is very quick early with not much speed on her outside

No idea at all G/M.
Who are you betting with?
What page is the one that is popping up?

Perhaps if you still have the original Explorer, use that until you sort your drama.

TRACEY'S DELIGHT always runs about 20 metres further than Most other dogs.
Best to wait till it draws the Pink.
Trouble is so are all the Other Smart Punters.

Well done with your Trifecta's G/M.
I managed the 9th race for half a Unit.

One race to go
I like a BOX EXACTA 4,5,6 for $1

ijuandaQLD 24th April 2009 01:49 PM

the challenge is out

hey moeee tomoro nit being saturday night the meadows and wenty are on. feel like having a tipping contest between ourselves? tips in by 10 minutes before first race.

We each pick out of 10 races for each meet
5 winners
3 quinellas with two runners
4 straight out trifectas
3 box trifectas with 3 runners
1 box first four with 5 runners
2 exactas
and
the daily and extra double with one runner in each leg

selections (except in the daily doubles which will be designated by the home state ie nswtab for wenty and supertab for meadows) can be for any race and any race can have any amount of bets in it ie you can take a winner, tri and quin in same race.

winner is the one who gets the most aggregate returns for a dollar unit on each bet

Are you game?????

moeee 24th April 2009 02:00 PM

Sorry Iguana :(
I don't play games.
If I did, I would grab a ball and the kids and go down the park.

I'm a Gamblerholic.
And pretty much a coward.
The only way I get the adrenalin release in my Life is by Gambling.

You do what you said though.
Be good to see if you can make a Profit.
I'ld Love to see that :)
I did notice you had a thread on Albion Park, which I have no interest on, but had a bit of a read anyway.

To me, if the selections aren't followed up as to whether they are showing a Profit or not, makes very drab reading.

moeee 24th April 2009 02:34 PM

TRARALGON

Race 1
I'ld be foolin' meself if I thought I could work this Race out.

Race 2
Managed to narrow it down to 4 runners
Could be a waste of $3 though.
QUINELLA Box 4,5,7,8

Race 3
Coupla quick beginners in the inside boxes , but they ain't much good.
I think from #3 COMATOSED can drop in behind them and get a safe run to go home too well.
$8 a win.

Race 4
Slow beginners fill the inner Boxes so I'll take the outside ones in a Quinella.
Again, could be a waste of $3
Box QUINELLA 5,6,7,8

moeee 24th April 2009 03:42 PM

Race 5
#6 SALEGREY'S GOLD is the likely leader, but I have found #3 DENISON FLASH will be up there as well and prove too strong at the finish.
No confidence in these animals though so just a QUINELLA here.
3 and 6 for $3

Race 6
#2 TAD RUSTY just wins.
$40 on it.
Only possible danger is the 1st time on the track.
But it has Form at many different tracks so shouldn't be a problem.
TRIFECTA
2 - 1,3 - 1,3,8 for $1

moeee 24th April 2009 04:10 PM

Race 7

#1 SPENCES SHADOW is too good for these , especially from the Cherry.
Even Money gets me set for another $40
TRIFECTA
1 - 4,7 - 4,7,2,3 for $1

moeee 24th April 2009 05:05 PM

Some mighty dissappointing runs from the Favourites at TRARALGON today.

I don't feel well :(
If I didn't know better, I'ld think that something fishy is going on.

What's that smell??

goldmember 24th April 2009 05:29 PM

Moeee, i suppose you use the GRV form guides, there the best arround, i use the Brainstormer and Rocket Scientist, but for some reason there ANGLE PARK form is stupid, there was a dog on THURSDAY night, CHELLO BALE, it had 2 wins & a 2nd at its last 3 starts there, but it said: this track and distance no starts, it was 1 WEDNESDAY (DAY) and 2 MONDAY NIGHTS, correct me if I'M stupid, but is'nt 515m at angle park , 515m at angle park?

rabbitz 24th April 2009 05:35 PM

So Mo long time quiet around the forum apart from dishies
Are you completely off other forms of the punt because it would be good to see you on the sports betting comp putting in your selections on the AFL particularly since your beloved??? St Kilda are doing the right things this year
Rabbitz
PS Seems eons ago since you gave me some ribbing about how bad the triple premiers were/are going

ijuandaQLD 24th April 2009 05:46 PM

gold member the reason the form doesnt show starts at angle park for starts at angle park is because they are run on different nights on different class tracks. form such as the one you are using separates t/d form by the class of the meeting ie Angle Park on a thursday nit will be class 1 while other angle park meetings are likely class 2 or 4 therefore different form lines. generally the only form that shows the complete and total t/d form are supplied by the state greyhound authority so for angle park the South Australian greyhound authority.

To remedy this i would look individual dog form up through sites such as grv.org.au or graq.org.au. both sites have programs that allow you to look up any australian registered dogs career starts. While it includes every run it also includes their individual performances at every track and the class they are. it also offers a complete record of the dogs box form. ie how many times it has run from each box and how many it has won and placed from that box. this has helped me back many winners. generally people look at a dog they believe is a railer drawn the one box and think its a special yet it may like to scout wide at box rise and then cross to the rails.

good luck

Yep am off footy.
Lost on dogs earlier this year, tried footy again.
That lasted 2 games :(

I don't follow no team unless I got money on it.
I don't remember bagging you about Brisbane, but if you say so , then I musta.

I lost interest mostly on betting on the footy when they got rid of the roll-your-own lines.
Not that I won using them, but was enjoyable doing them Multis.

goldmember 24th April 2009 05:56 PM

Too much mucking around for me, i watch all the races from there , so i have a good idea what they do, thats why i use the last 4 start form , but when that happens i then use the last 10 starts form , but you look at the queensland form, i'm sure they have the BrisM1 and 2 but show all starts at the tracks.

I don't bet interstate Goldmember so I wouldn't know.
But looks to me like we must be both stoopid :(

I use the BRAINSTORMER.
But only as a reference.

I actually download the FORM as per what IGUANA says.
I connived a Forumite to give me a copy of a Program what another Forumite emailed to Forumites what wanted a copy.
Of course, **************** me didn't ask directly when it was offerred did I?
Anyway, after playing with it for about 4 years now, I sort of got it winning,at least, not losing :)

schmucta80 24th April 2009 06:44 PM

Not just at Traralgon Moeee.

Not our day today by the looks of things

moeee 24th April 2009 07:03 PM

Well thats the thing isn't it Shmucta.
It is Gambling.
Sometimes you right and sometimes you wrong.
But if you are following the right path, you will eventually get where you are headed.

But what happens to many of us, we lose the plot when things go wrong and mess up :(

moeee 24th April 2009 07:28 PM

GEELONG Race 8
This is a catch me if you can Race.
But they can't.
#5 TAIPAN BALE leads all the way, with #3 IMA PETTIGO chasing all the way.

TRIFECTAS
5 - 3 - 6,2,1 for $2
5 - 3 - 6,2 for $2
5 - 3,6,2 - 3,6,2,1 for 50 cents
5 - 6,2,1 - 3 for $1
