i reckon this would be a cool thing to give a go, whattaya guys reckon??? Same rules as racetab, i.e. 1 nominated race each week, you pick one horse, if it runs a place you go through to next round, if it wins you get immunity and skip the next round, if it doesn't run a place you are ELIMINATED!!!

I know the carnival is over, but we could do it anytime

Thoughts appreciated

Chuck

Another survivor torch bearer coming right up. IN!

suds 8th November 2004 10:45 PM

Probably give it a miss
No chance with you experts all lining up

moeee 8th November 2004 11:14 PM

Please don't let me go out in the first leg so's I don't have to wait until the next competition starts, which would probably be Xmas unless it is a daily tipping competition.
I'm in.

Anneytulip 9th November 2004 12:07 PM

I've just joined Pro Punter and I'll jump in at the deep end and join the tipping club too !!!

Mr ed 9th November 2004 12:14 PM

Haven't joined the other tipping comps but this one looks good. Count Ricardo me in too.

sportznut 9th November 2004 12:22 PM

Chuck, do you want to start this week or wait until our tipping comp has finished?

Chuck 9th November 2004 03:57 PM

hmmmm...tricky business...not sure...what do you think? I'd say we could do it Sandown Classic day as the opener...

rabbitz 9th November 2004 04:06 PM

Its only one race so it wouldnt be too much of a drama.
suggestion for weeks following take highest prize money race in australia for that saturday
cheers

Panther 9th November 2004 06:15 PM

william 9th November 2004 07:37 PM

OK

chubby 9th November 2004 08:36 PM

and if your horse is scratched ???

Mr ed 9th November 2004 08:43 PM

Perhaps Sub-Fave or Topweight. But you have to post a selection you cant just not post and be given the Fave or Toppie.

chubby 9th November 2004 08:46 PM

We can always Count Ricardo on you Mr ed. Sounds good to me.

moeee 9th November 2004 09:28 PM

Well if my tips scratched I believe I should be entitled to my money back so's I can invest it the following bet.
NO SUBS!

Northerly 9th November 2004 09:30 PM

sounds good

Oaksnaf 9th November 2004 09:51 PM

When do you plan on starting?

Mr ed 9th November 2004 10:24 PM

Moeee this would not work as there is no money to reinvest there is only one race a week to pick a horse in, so if you dont have a horse then sorry but your off the island.

bl4dez 9th November 2004 11:46 PM

count me in

Chuck 10th November 2004 05:37 AM

Sorry moeee and others, but i think subs are the only way to go or you are gooooone.
Otherwise, we could use this idea i was thinking of:
You have a first pick and a first reserve.
Same rules for the first pick as before, but if it is scratched, then your reserve takes its' place - but it can only WIN for you to stay in the comp

Chuck

Shaun 10th November 2004 09:47 AM

Yeah i like the win only idea so you can stay in....would be better that way if you get knocked out in the first round you want have to wait to many weeks till a new one comes along and i like the idea of two selections 1 first pick and one reserve incase of scratching....if both are scratched i think it is just to bad and you are out....after all you won't have to wait to long if the win betting is used instead of place

sportzRus 10th November 2004 09:58 AM

Very likely starter subject to final rules.
I’m okay with starting this week. If we do likely I’ll concentrate on this comp and forget the other. I would have only been picking roughies in any case.

Ditto.

Shaun 10th November 2004 09:27 PM

I will start this week...just have to win the last comp first

Real Deal 11th November 2004 08:38 AM

New to this site but i see no reason why not to get involved. Looks like it will be an environment the real deal will relish.

moeee 11th November 2004 09:41 AM

I am very concerned about going out in the first round and having to wait till Xmas to have another try.
Is the idea to find the shortest priced horse racing in Australia or are we confined to betting only on a particular race?

sportznut 11th November 2004 09:59 AM

Just one race. It'll be the Sandown Classic, so you can think about it now.

I've decided I'll be starting up another month long tipping comp in December, for anyone who wants to have a go. Along with this Survivor idea, there'll be plenty of chances to put your tips up against those of the other forumers.

Chrome Prince 11th November 2004 01:05 PM

What's the prize?

I'd love to have a dip but I'm off to sunny Gold Coast for 10 days with not very good internet access.

My tips on the other thread will be there for this weekend but probably not next.

Good luck with survivor, I'll be interested to see who's still standing when I return.

My money's on Shaun or shy if she gets involved (by the way where is she these days?)

Who is this 'shy'?

Chrome Prince 11th November 2004 03:59 PM

shy is a forum member who used to be here a while ago. She did very well with placegetters in a competition a while back.

Mark 11th November 2004 04:20 PM

Shy's a wicked girl. Aren't you Shy.
