THE DAILY CHALLENGE (April)

For this comp, we'll be using the Daily Challenge on the AAP Racing And Sports website. For those that don't know, the Daily Challenge requires you to tip one horse in each race at up to 4 different venues and you are then awarded points based on wins & placings and dividends in selected races.

Read about how the Daily Challenge works:

If you're not already registered on the website and want to join the comp, you can do so now. Try to sign up with the same name or a similar name to what you use on this forum, but if that's not possible, then please tell us here what name you registered under. Go here to register:

RULES

Put in your tips for each race at all 4 meetings on Saturday. You have to have your selections in by 11:59 AM Saturday. Then at the end of the day, post on here your final score and also your P.O.T for the Win. At the end of the month, we'll have a champion in each category.

For April, these are the days we will be tipping: Sat 2, Sat 9, Sat 16, Sat 23, Mon 25, Sat 30.

Brilliant Sportz, i participate as Pembroke and believe the DC is a true test.It is especially tough on saturdays.

Just to showboat a little i cleaned up yesterday with 13 wins and 11 places, a win POT over 100% and a place POT over 50%.Usually i'm isatisfied if i make the top 10! You did very well on wednesday which is also a tough day.

I did the above purely using the neurals also found at R&S.Along with this site they are the best punting site on the net.

The Pro-pun forums are outstanding for the knowledge and maturity of the contributers.

Regards Kiwi ( Pembroke ) :)

Kiwi,

If you don't mind, can you tell me how people can put their tips in today for tomorrow's races? On the website it says you can do that, but I can't seem to find out how. :o

Or is it just that you have to wait till later in the day for them to put tomorrow's races up???

xptdriver 1st April 2005 08:15 AM

Gday Fellas,

as my posting name implies, I Do actually drive XPT's for a living... this job entails staying away overnight and shift work... So a lot of the time I am not here on a Saturday Morning to post my selections.. How do I get on if I am working and cannot post?

Sportz 1st April 2005 08:19 AM

XPT,

Read my previous post. It says on the website that you can put your Saturday tips in on Fridays but I can't seem to work out how. I think perhaps they just haven't put tomorrow's meetings up yet and they might do that a bit later on today.

kiwi 1st April 2005 08:28 AM

Hi guys, you can put up your selections up to 3 days in advance.

The option is on the selection page highlighted in blue on the right hand side.At the moment all you will see is 1 April but more usually there will be two more days available.

They appear to have a software problem at the mo' and this could be why only today is available.:)

Sportz 1st April 2005 08:44 AM

Thanks. I thought that must have been the case.

Sportz 1st April 2005 02:20 PM

The meetings for tomorrow are up on the website now, so if anyone wants to put their selections in now they can.

Sportz 1st April 2005 06:10 PM

Chuck, you can certainly post tips here if you wish, but what you really have to do to be part of the competition is put them on the 'Daily Challenge' webpage. Have you done that?

Chuck 1st April 2005 06:20 PM

you bet!

Chuck 1st April 2005 06:21 PM

is everyone going to post their tips? if not, i'll delete that post, but my username is Chuck_3000

Sportz 1st April 2005 06:34 PM

People can post their tips here, but it's not absolutely compulsory. As long as we know what your user name is and you come back at the end of each day with your final results.

Chuck, haven't you made a tip in every race? The idea was that we would tip in every single race that the Daily Challenge is operating on at the 4 meetings, even if we know little or nothing about the form for some of them. That's a REAL challenge!!! :)

mecurial 1st April 2005 06:38 PM

Ok, my user name is...mecurial. My question is do we have to have a slection in every race of the nominated meet?

Sportz 1st April 2005 06:43 PM

Yeah, every single race at each of the 4 meetings. Of course, that wouldn't really be a smart way of betting if we were using real money, but it's only play money we're dealing with. And as I said in my previous post, it'll certainly be a challenge for our tipping.

Chuck 1st April 2005 07:13 PM

ok, i'll change it now

Goldcoaster 2nd April 2005 05:19 AM

i'm in my user name is.....Goldcoaster

Sportz 2nd April 2005 07:50 AM

Well, of course I'm in too and my user name is Sportznut. :)

Chuck 2nd April 2005 08:00 AM

not a very good turn-out guys!

Sportz 2nd April 2005 08:12 AM

Hopefully a few more will join in before the cutoff point of 12 o'clock. If we only have about 4 or 5, it won't be much fun.

kiwi 2nd April 2005 09:39 AM

The track is still rain affected at Randwick. For a carnival with all these Group 1 races we have had easy soft and heavy tracks to cope with.

Sportz 2nd April 2005 09:47 AM

Reckon there's a chance of an upgrade after a race or two.

xptdriver 2nd April 2005 10:10 AM

Gday All,

I post as dave60

TESTAROSSA 2nd April 2005 11:16 AM

I am Testarossa

Sportz 2nd April 2005 11:17 AM

Wouldn't have guessed that. :D

xptdriver 2nd April 2005 11:45 AM

Pity they werent counting Kembla

Sportz 2nd April 2005 12:03 PM

I could kick myself sometimes. Yesterday, I was fully intending to pick Kournerov in the 1st in Adelaide, but this morning after hearing the tips on the radio, I switched to Roman's Image. :(

Chuck 2nd April 2005 12:34 PM

i'm off to a flier...leading the country at the moment with POT of 206%

Goldcoaster 2nd April 2005 12:36 PM

yep your going well chucky....hope you are backing them

Sportz 2nd April 2005 04:20 PM

I don't expect to do any good at all. I'm terrible at these comps where you have to pick just ONE horse per race. You see, when I bet, I always back 2 or more horses per race and if I have to single just one of them out I ALWAYS seem to go the wrong way. In 4 races today, I had the winner picked out yesterday and I changed it today. When will I learn? :(

xptdriver 2nd April 2005 04:58 PM

Gday All

According to the AAP scoreboard my result was

9 Winners 10 places from 32 races for a score of 169

Couldnt quite catch the goldcoaster :)

POT of 10% which isnt too bad considering some of the rough results today..

I guess that is what I need to post?

Chuck 2nd April 2005 05:03 PM

i finished off terribly!!!

148 pts, 7 Winners, 13 Places, 35% POT

Sportz 2nd April 2005 05:11 PM

Yep.

I had 7 wins, 12 placings for a total of 140 points and POT of -32% :o

I'm very disappointed with myself today. I kid you not. I actually had Tezza Raami, Kournerov, Crevette and Amaizing Style all picked out yesterday and changed them all today after being influenced by the stupid radio tipsters and the betting. DUMB! :(

mecurial 2nd April 2005 07:16 PM

148 Points, 5 Wins, 15 Places, POT 14%/-14% i dont understand that figure...I wish I had of had some of the winners on for REAL money...

Chuck 2nd April 2005 07:34 PM

i ended up beating Goldcoaster by 15% on POT, despite him beting me by 24 pts overall

kiwi 2nd April 2005 09:03 PM

My result was disaterous:

3wins 16places 116 points - 71% pot

You guys all did pretty good, believe me saturday is toughest for this comp. You all finished in the top 21 which is a very credible result.

TESTAROSSA 2nd April 2005 10:24 PM

I finished 10th with 154 pts with 6 wins and 17 placings ( majority being ************ 2nds :( ) and - 27%/ 0% POT.

Can anyone explain why it says on my home page 0% place POT, but on the leaderboard it has me as 118% place POT?????

Goldcoaster 3rd April 2005 06:29 AM

I Finished 5th overall
172 Points
9 Wins 10 Place
19% POT
