Hard day at the office ,,Walking or Dancing of the slow tempo was enormous ,,,Manolo was smashed by bernardo at the turn so he'll keep for next start ,,,
Chavira was a good result and Uncle Jan paid very nicely ..

Burdekin blues i thought was average ,,Mazuka did well but the horse will always need some luck ,

Will be down in Sydney this week for the Epsom and NRL final ,,,can't wait :) always a good weekend ,,

Couldn't be further away. Amazing how the Ima Joker formline, a horse that has struggled recently in town, is seemingly stronger than the Sommersea Drive/Heart of the Citi formline who are proven city performers.

Like Grand Lady in Race 6 at Doomben and there looks to be plenty of speed in the last and Im fairly keen on Cape Chivas. Patmoss/General Purple/Tightrope for the quinny.

Snipers Bullet looks to get all the favours if he can take advantage of the barrier and the track isnt to wet and ugly on the inside,,if it is Orange County in this field is worth an e/w ticket ,,,capable horse on his day and this is easier than what hes been running around in,,,2,5 the dangers.

I'm a fan of Typhoon Tracey ,,she was brave last start and against her own shes going to be hard to beat ,,Hot Danish is class but i like her more on the fresh side (hard run last time out) ,,these the quiny ,,Neroli / Gold Water for the tri.

Baughurst looks a special tough horse suited here ,,if they get started earlier on Shocking he can figure hes fitter now and looked good last start ,,these two the standouts.

To hard ,, I'll be looking at MAster O and Roman Emperor ,,and having a go with the exotics ,,,i'll be throwing in Light Vision and Red Lord as roughies that could place,,,include 1,2,3,4,9,14,15 better odds than lotto but just as hard to get..

Haven't been on this site for ages, and have been out of the proverbial saddle for a while, but went to the GC races today with a couple of mates. Not having studied form for ages, i took with me to the track a sole printout of your tips rather than a formguide.

Roman Emperor was a top run, but mid-race i saw Veiwed jogging and couldn't take my eyes off him; i lost but was beautiful to watch!!!

Thanks Mr Ed , yep had a good day :) the 2 quiny's also helped boost the bank ,,i was dissapointed with Youthful Jack who just seemed one paced down the straight (check out Lyncean Academy's run)
same with Citywise (maybe had to much now) but i loved Opportunistic's run ,,,see him extend at the end ,,he'll run another 400m strongly..
In Melbourne Tracey and Baughurst were ratings specials on paper and proved it,,i cant see anything in the CC winning the MC ,,efficient / alcopop look real standouts for me ,,not sure about Speed Gifted yet ,,that metro i could have won ..
anyway a good times :)

R4 thought Maxisun could get the gun run here , he looked excellent last start and gets the sit behind Magical Pearl and La Rocket ,,the dangers will have to come from the back but hopefully Maxisun has
A big enough break , Raffaello the danger as the wide draw helps him , hes been taking an age to wind up but he gets the tempo to suit.

R5 Extra Zero looks a special , hes crying out for the distance and handles the track, We just missed when he came close at nice odds a couple of starts ago but he’ll pay us back today.

R6, Apache Cat a special , he’s ticking over nicely and primed for this , Lucky Secret the one to catch but Olly will have him in his sights the whole way and will gobble him late.

R7, Ista Kareem looked good last start and loves the track , Hissing Sid has some class and Sentire at nice odds is capable. These the 3 with Ista to good.

R8, Found the race hard to work out Speed map wise, I’ve been a fan of El Segundo and he’s the reason I still have cash in the account but I’m not sure he has that sharp sprint in him anymore, He showed it fresh but the old niggles kick in after that, Zipping runs well here but this is harder than last year and he was going a touch better then aswell. So the 2 favs Whobe and HOD look the obvious with the short straight suiting Whobe alittle more , Vision n Power can do ok here but I would have liked it wet , Rock Kingdom on the speed map gets his chance , I’ll be just going the exotics with these 4 and putting in
El and Zipo for old times sake.

R9, Estee will get back but that suits that time of the day , good tempo suits .

r1, like the comedian here. last start win with ease and as the likely leader will take a huge effort to run down. kidnapped obviously the one to beat, but id throw in euphemism at big odds, as its sydney form looks ok for a race like this.

r2, tough race but im going to ignore light visions last start and put him on top with some good value around. Should get a good run somewhere just off the speed and with a good record track/ distance and back to suitable grade looks good at double figures. hume/shocking for multis.

r3, This one looks easy. Very keen on run for naara here. Was on last start and even more confident today. Loved the turn of foot and if runs like that wins easily. Im all over her today!

r4, I really like demerit here but will keep my money in my pocket because of mcavoid riding it. He does seem to ride better in melbourne but hes hurt me too many times. Might just box up that with irish lights and wanted for qu..

r5, Id expect rangi to get a soft lead here and providing he has recovered well from the hard track will be terribly hard to run down. Wouldnt be suprised to see mandela sneak into a place at massive odds.

r6, How many chances do we give onemorenomore. Has loads of ability and if he can settle for a change wins this. Liked monaco consuls win and looks like will enjoy the extra distance, ill work multis around these 2.

r7,not prepared to back typhoon tracey at those odds from a wide barrier, but if gets across ok wins this.

r8, very hard to go past first command here today, but i will wait to see what part of the track they will be aiming for. Like the qu with the toppy.

R5, Can't see them beating Rangi ,,the blinkers have just turned him into pharlap ,,racing to win go ok here so put him in exotics,,
R6, onemore just has to settle ,,shouldnt by right be anywhere near them of late but he keeps battling on regardless,,best jock around that can settle them over the distance.

Hope you are all doing well, didn't like the Derby Day so stayed away from all of the races in Melbourne. I did have a blackbooker running @ Towoomba though so i actually made the trek out there for the first time (from Gold Coast) to get the bookies odds. If i had realised there would be only two bookies who were as weak as water i probably would've saved the drive.

Nevertheless the horse i liked was Camphor after a huge run the start before when bursting through on the inside! Couldn't believe that one of the bookies put up $3 straight away (looked an odds on pop for mine) so i stepped in and knocked it off straight away, it duely saluted by 5.25 lengths:) It was a wonderful feeling, knowing your form was spot on and you've jagged super odds.

Anyway back to the Melbourne Cup, i usually steer clear of this race as it is incredibly difficult to find the winner, however i do really think Alcopop is the one to beat here, beautiful horse with a beautiful weight, and has what is required to win the big one which is a turn of foot, his times were outstanding in the Herbert Power. Just hoping Dom doesn't go too early as i think if he's within 3 lengths at the 200m it's all over.

Viewed for me is unders, he got the right run in the Caulfield Cup, but that wasn't an over strong rendition. Ussually horses who get home nicely in the MacKinnon are terribly hard to beat, but most of the time they'll be dropping considerably in weight (think Rogan Josh), Veiwed gets no weight relief here.

Anyway good luck all, think the bet of the day is probably Bart's second stringer in Think Money, good last start at the Valley, she has been prepped for the cup and ran second in the AJC Oaks so the distance will be ideal, still a maiden but perfectly drawn and she really does meet a bunch of no hopers here. Worried about the price though especially with the Bart factor!

Im all over it like a spider monkey. Ive just returned from my local (which happens to be the trainers too) and the place is a buzz with the channel 7 crew on standby for coverage after the pop goes 'bang'
Although a little biased, i have looked over and over to find something to beat it but i cant!!

wouldnt be the first time im wrong, but it could be 5 lengths to 2nd!

Changing of the Guard is out after official vet inspection this morning [slightly lame]. According to a witness, Hayes was spitting chips and had a big argument with the vet, waving his arms around and insisting the horse was fine to run! Talk about drama.

They really have to do something about having a couple of emergencies for the cup because a horse is missing out here as only 23 will run now.

Not keen on VIEWED's short odds due to the 5kg weight rise from last years cup which gives Master O'rielly a big weight advantage from last year's 2nd. Considering the amount of poor horses in the cup, Viewed might still win with the weight, but is way unders all things considered. I think one of Bart's other horses, ROMAN EMPEROR has a better show if he can genuinely stay the distance and might be Bart's real hope that he's being fairly quiet about!

Not keen on ALCOPOP's short odds either! Certainly has the turn of foot but has never been past 2400m and it's been 24 days since his last start [hardly an ideal cup prep.]. Apart from the G2 Herbert Power win last start, he was a C3 horse 4 starts ago and has only had 10 starts. Next year after a bit more experience might be his go.

I'll go for a bit on LIKE A DING and MASTER O'REILLY to win and throw in Viewed, Alcopops, Newport, Roman Emperor and Shocking for a couple of exotics. Last time I won on this race was with Rain Lover [got the tri. too], but I've been hopeless tipping the cup since then, so be wary of my selections!

Viewed is real dour now ,,hasnt the fresh feel he had last year but he'll grind away ...SHocking needs the fence and maybe the jock will throw the dice and look for the miracle run ..,,hard race but i'll be having a big tri as usual ,,throw in the roughies like Crime Scene , Master O and Fuimicino ,,

The undercard looks ok ,,Sounds of Nature a real good chance ,So Anyway , Bosuse , Lamarr , thought old Sentire could run a cheeky race , and the Ortensia / Dane Julia / Alverta tri looks good..

r2, kick off with some value with MARCHELLE BELLE. I think the winner in this race will come off the speed, lucky thunder and absolute star goiing forward as well. Worth a save on absolute star at big odds, work tri around these 3.

r3, will be on raffaello here, didnt think his last start was that bad and hit the line well before that. This looks like a suitable race for him, big track will suit.

r4, hard to back the toppy at those odds but looks hard to beat. Might have a few bucks on believe on more at massive odds and the quinella. liked its last run here in adelaide.

r5, very good race!! might just watch and cheer for the cat!! nicconi looks hard to beat, will be flying late.

r6, hard to go past the syt but i am. Going to back triple honour and road to rock at BIG odds. RTR ignore last start and its 1600 form has been super and triple honours best form if he brings his manners puts him right in this. I have a feeling its a roughies race.

r7, like lady lynette here. Ran well behind the superstar last start and this looks winnable. moment in time racing well and is the danger.

r8, open race with a few chances. hume, bid spotter and lodge the deeds the top 3. will go with value here and take LTD. good run in sydney then followed it up with a very good run in the mv cup when conditions probably didnt suit.

struggled today till the Queen Elizabeth :) ,,,got a nice piece of that race ,, ,,like that Naval Escort and he'll be one to follow next spring..
got a few nice place divies ..thought Gold Salute a tragedy beaten ,,,cant believe how slow they went in mr Hornblowers race ?? all those leaders and they just walked..

Thought All Silent was just amazing !! best run of the carnival ,,they should go to Dubai with him or imagine him at Royal Ascot,,
Nicconi was awefull but a keen eye who was watching him parade said he didnt look right in the hind quarters ,,i didnt take any notice (even though shes almost a vet) ,,,,serves me right ,,anyway i was already on....doubt the vets there would have been game to scratch him after the way Mr Hayes carried on the other day..

Zabene is a nice type in NZ to keep an eye one ,,,,while i remember Zabrasive another Zabeel racing around Sydney is one to follow...

Agree, i think Youthful Jack is the bet of the day, he's very good when on song and seems to be racing himself into form now, absolutely loves this track! Danger is probably the classy Ghetto Blaster was wonderful first up in over a year, but second up from an extended spell usually finds these types out.

Hopefully Jack can get the money for us.
