I've tidied up and clarified the rules. I've also simplified the situation regarding subs., so here they are again for old and new players:

COMP. RUNS FROM TUESDAY 7/11/06 to SUNDAY 31/12/06 ... join at any time.

1. $100 a day bet allowance from Tuesday to Sunday at all TAB meetings.

2. Monday is a rest day and has no bet allowance. [Totals for the week go up Sun. night or Monday].

3. Minimum bet is $20 for the win or place [ bets must end with a '0'].

4. Bet amount on a bet day must be no less than $100 on 1 to 5 bets.

5. You can bet one day a week [$600 to bet with] or up to six days a week.

6. Every day you don't bet adds $100 to your bet allowance to be used in multiples of $100 when you do bet.

7. Thee is no advance bet allowance [ie: you can't use Sunday's $100 to add to Saturdays $100]

8. Every Tuesday is a fresh week, so use or lose any money accumulated from the week before.

7. Each week's best punter receives a BONUS BET of $50 to be used during the following week as a $50 extra bet.

8. At the end of the comp. on SUNDAY 31/12/06 the punter with the highest $ total wins.

NOTE on Subs and Bets:

All bets, alterations and any subs. must be posted 1 hr. before the starting time [close to it anyway] of your earliest starting runner.

If no sub. has been posted with your selections the SP fav. becomes your sub.

If a race is canceled your bet amount and bet type transfers to your next bet race to run.

If your last bet race is canceled, your bet amount is transfered to the next day.

These rules [with the note about subs] were posted at the beginning of the second week of the comp. because the original rule about subs. was unworkable for single bets.

EVERYONE has had the above sub. rule applied throughout the comp. [except for the first week] whether they were aware of it or not, so there is nothing unfair about it.
