Very small moment of fame Paddy, I think you’ll find the top-weight has been scratched. Something about the jockey being excessively overweight!

No worries MyHatMyCoat. I think Peter Knuckey was the winner at $6.50. 1 of only 4 quoted under double figures, so was probably good value in hindsight.

My pocket is very (sadly) surprised as well Chenille Prince. Might start next week over 1900M if all OK. The step up in distance will obviously suit.

( 9) ON THE WATCH

SCR - 1
QUADRELLA SUB - 2

Thought INTOWISHIN ridden a treat by Pat Carbery who over the years has showed that he is one of the better 'distance' riders in WA (imo).

Paddy 11th July 2004 07:10 AM

Great effort Shaun & MyHatMyCoat!

Shaun gave us 2 winners including POWER PATROL ($6.60) but most importantly the QUINELLA $54.40, EXACTA $111.30 & TRIFECTA $496.10 in race 4 (with only 3 picks) while MyHatMyCoat gave us 4 winners including SUPER TOM ($6.30) & SABRE CHIEF ($16.60) as well as KONJO (2nd) almost producing a boilover in the last paying $12 place. Also $39.20 tri R1, $91.60 tri R2 & QUINELLA $63.10 & EXACTA $151.70 in R7. Very unlucky not to scoop the lot in R7 – 4 selections for 1st, 2nd with the other 2 dead-heating for 4th!

Well done my boyos!!

That's good news Sandgroper.

MyHatMyCoat 13th July 2004 12:48 AM

PR7 20M out Paddy did have the lot, still made a nice profit on the race.

Chenille Prince 14th July 2004 01:33 PM

PR7
Our Big Marcus
Northern Beau
Avenida Madero
Island Light

PR8
Marchark
True Gleam
Tonnerre Noir
Dolly Ziuto

Paddy 14th July 2004 05:21 PM

Not a bad effort PR7 CP filling the top 5 with your 4 selections. Good luck in the last.

Chenille Prince 15th July 2004 09:43 AM

Thanks Paddy. Unfortunately last race a total disaster. Best I could do was 4th (True Gleam) although did get beaten only a long head.

Paddy 16th July 2004 06:13 AM

Ordinary fields on the weekend fellas!?

Sandgroper 16th July 2004 08:51 AM

Yep, looks like racing Wed and Thur has taken it's toll a little.

I see MR. TAMBOURINEMAN is top-weight in 7th at Darwin Saturday.

Smallish field and step up to 1900M certainly in his favour.

Not sure if he could be penalised (Darwin Cup) if he won in which case might run a close 2nd

Yeah 2nd  Thanks for reminding me Perth Placegetter!

Paddy 20th July 2004 08:01 AM

Reported in the press this morning that WA trainer Steve Wolfe's appeal against a 12-month ban over the fall of Savage Cabbage will go ahead next Monday.

Stewards originally banned Wolfe for 2 years for treating Savage Cabbage with the anti-inflammatory drug Phenylbutazone before the horse broke a leg and fell in a barrier trial at Belmont Park on October 28, 2002. The ban was later reduced to 1 year.
