If everyone agrees I reckon we should have a "scrapers" fund.
At the end of each week we could all round down to the nearest 0 or 5 and put it in the fund so the scrapers like rabbit could stay in but he would have to repay whatever he borrows from the "scrapers" fund out of his $100 free bet or if he strikes a win. The limit borrowed could naturally be no more than $100 in total and when that runs out I would imagine they would be sick of losing anyway.Maybe the scrapers fund could simultaneously repay the punters who leant it out in the first place.

THOUGHTS ANYONE?

Sportz 21st April 2005 05:49 PM

Marko, that all sounds a bit confusing. I don't know. I think we should probably leave it as it is.

In the meantime, Rabbitz and Chuck have their own comp to have a bit of fun with for a few weeks until the next free bet comes around on June1. When it does, they'll have the opportunity to pick out a 'sure thing' so they can continue in the comp. Knowing those two, they won't go for a sure thing though. They'll probably go for a HUGE multi bet and try to hit the lead. ;)

Don't forget Marko.
Chuck was right up there at one stage.
I imagined the idea of the comp. was to get punters to realize that gambling is not a game and never was and never will be!

Little fish are sweet Sportz?
Most of your little fish seem to have gone off.
May I try and drum it in again, the idea ain't to pick lots of winners in this comp.,but to bet those at value!

There obviously must be some sort of logic in the outlay method you are using.
We can tell by the massive lead you have opened up on everyone.
Is it a secret or would you like to share why Kangas at the price available are only worth $10,yet Carlton are worth $50?

Sportz 23rd April 2005 08:23 AM

I guess he's putting more on the teams that he thinks are bigger value (bigger overlays). Whatever he's doing, it's worked damn well so far.

Everyone has their own staking plan.

I can't really go into much detail, because it would not be fair to my paying subscribers.

But, Sportz is on the right track.

If the S12 match in NZ continues to go as it is at the moment, I think I'll just give up! Look what happens when you go looking for nice safe sure bets that can't possibly lose. :(

Chuck 23rd April 2005 06:14 PM

i just can't believe you ever doubted me sportz...(shake of head)...i am so annoyed, the Cats were Sooooooo close to scoring that try that would have put them at 36-35 with 5 mins to go, but now the Crusaders have scored two go up 41-28 :(:(:(:(

Sportz 23rd April 2005 06:25 PM

One of my basic rules when betting with real money is that I don't touch teams giving away a start. But in this case, I (and almost every other tipster) thought the Crusaders would beat the Cats by at least 30 today, so I thought surely a handicap of -12.5 would be a pretty safe bet. Well, that's another $50 down the drain in this comp and I honestly feel like just giving up. :(

Chuck 23rd April 2005 07:13 PM

hey, now thats not the attitude we want!!! Come and join Hares and me in the 2nd chance comp, when you slip to the dreaded $50 balance...just $300 to go! I say have 6 $50 bets, all involving the roosters - they're sure to lose!

Sportz 23rd April 2005 07:31 PM

Sorry Chuck. Don't worry. I've recovered now. :)

I was just so damn mad at myself for being so stupid. All I was trying to do was gradually climb the ladder by tipping what I thought were sure things. Well, as we all know, there aint no such things.
