xptdriver 3rd August 2005 05:47 PM

Time to Move on to WA R6

I guess I will have to work extra hard tomorrow to claw back that 800... Might get a price about an old fav of mine in the Coffs Cup... likely to pop at huge odds anywhere... ah well R6 Belmont just about to go... 4 an 1... any other ideas?

Mr Selby 3rd August 2005 06:02 PM

Gee i was surprised didnt think there was much in that. Wouldnt like to be the bloke who had the 33grand quaddie only for it to be upheld!

Franskter 4th August 2005 09:43 AM

To add insult to injury, the jockey on the protest winner hasn't won in town for 15 years!

Gotta love it.

maverick1993 4th August 2005 11:59 AM

heard it was a stewards protest as well.....weird havent seen that for awhile for a 1st place getter..

Mr ed 4th August 2005 02:07 PM

Perhaps got to do with Frankster's comment above Mav. The jockey wouldn't remember where the stewards room was let alone how to lodge a protest. Makes you wonder why jockey's make protests at all if any with a chance of being upheld are brought up by stewards anyway. The jockey was to incompetent to protest, or even look at the patrol film, how is this any different to the jockey being to imcopetent to find a position etc? It's all part of their duties and the stewards shouldn't interfere, all it does is cause controvesy like this. They just love sticking there nose in, i remember 3 or 4 months back, backing Elmatilla in the seagulls race. Birds fly into horses ruining their chances all the time, just because it happened to more then one horse in the race shouldn't be any differently treated to if it did happen to only one.

They need to take some sound advice from a great man in John Lennon,

'LET IT BE'.

Franskter 5th August 2005 11:10 AM

The jockey wouldn't even know where the steward's room was....too funny Mr Ed!

At least I have learned from the experience. Now whenever I have a go on a D. Moor runner...I back it each way. This worked well yesterday in Geelong Race 6, where Vaalser Berg ran second and paid 10.80 for the place.
I secrectly hoped there would be a protest, but then gave up on the idea as my success rate on protests runs at less than 10%.
