Recent talk over here of relaxing (slightly) horse movement between the east & WA. Might need to re-think!

Silver_and_sand 22nd September 2007 09:23 AM

Just speculation, but...

...with the Warwick Farm results being returned in the early hours of the morning, it makes you think that there were at least a few people who suspected EI had hit Warwick Farm before the Sydney trainers had threatened to boycott today's races if they didn't get promises of vaccination.

Hmmmm, speculation perhaps, but certainly food for thought..

What a huge blow to Sydney racing. Am still amazed that it hasn't hit Victoria yet. Lets hope that it doesn't.

Agree. Don't see how the industry can risk it again

i'm assuming a horse is out of action after get a shot? for how long?

Silver_and_sand 23rd September 2007 09:24 AM

G'day TobinBronze.

Just read a good article in The Age which answers your question. In short, 1 in 50 horses will have a mild reaction to the vaccination shot, but they're right again within a few days. It seems the other 49 horses can continue with training as normal.

Vic vaccinations to start
