Computerised estimates of what the odds should be are never as accurate as doing them manually if you know the horses well.

party dude,
you said this before "personally after many years of research I find that "ALL" systems work!!" How come all the bookies and tabs haven't gone broke? I have seen systems that never work, hardly a winner. I had a look at the tipping comp results and most lost money. I bet most used a system or systems, yet only a couple showed a profit. If you took 100 systems at random and tested them for 6 months, I bet 90 of them would show a loss, 5 or 6 around breakeven and a couple might show a profit. If you extended the test to 12 months the results would be even worse. |
Party dude here,
Yes of course, what I am saying is that all systems work at some time, but measured over a period and most as you say, show a loss. But consider say a place system (many showing 80% plus S/R) so bet only on contenders that fit that bill (then bet only when you can see the value) but at least you know you are amongst the 80% to start with. |

(then bet only when you can see value) Can you tell me how to do this. with thanks Leslie |
well you could take a purely mechanical approach, i.e. place divi say 1 minute b4 the off being in proportion (OR BETTER) to the win divi, presuming youre betting on the tote, (I did see a guide about this somewhere) but personally I wouldn't bet at less than $1.30.
If the same approach is used for win betting then of course top flux with a bookie (some don't even charge a commission for this) would see your returns 5-10% better. Some will even accept a "NO BET LESS THAN" stipulation. |
I wouldn't bet at less than $1.50, there's no much value at $1.30. Bad luck can easily result in a loss, even with a place bet.
|
a horse that is rated evens or less to win but is showing $1.30 + represents VALUE, whereas a 6-1 shot showing $1.50 a place is a big no no
|
a horse showing evens usually pays $1.10 to $1.20 a place
you only need one short priced horse to miss a place and you have to back 5 or more to break even that is not value at the $1.30 mark, one loss wipes out 3 wins. a horse paying $2.50 and $1.50 is a better place bet. |
I give up
