In relation to the IAS site freezing - what web browser are you using? I was one of those invited to beta-test the new IAS site and couldn't get it to work at all until(after talking to their IT people) I upgraded to Internet Explorer 6. Now I have no problems - even on an O-L-D machine using Windows 98. |

No idea mate, my computer is like the car, tv or phone etc, I have no idea how they work but I know how to drive them. IAS is the only site I have problems with. |
Mark,
Excuse me if this is too basic. To check which version you are using click on the HELP menu on the top of your browser window.Select the "About Internet Explorer" option. It should say Version 6.0.xxx.xxx If it says Version 5.0 or 5.5 or similar you are definitely running an old version which many web-sites(including IAS) are not written to recognise. If this is the case I suggest you go to Microsoft's web-site and download version 6. Once again apologies if this reply is telling grandma to suck eggs. |
Thanks Zorro, I had a look, I've got version 6. Just as an example, right now I have Betfair, Tabonline, Propun, & IAS open....no prizes for guessing which I opened first & is still loading......

A big plus is the use of their SuperPrice(old Beta) for the Exotics. No use betting Trifectas on UniTab.

Super Price Exotics look OK but I wonder if a successful player of exotics keeps winning, IAS will probably "crush" the bets back on the NSW tote. I know of a punter that this has happened to. He had a $150 quinella nominating just two runners so he had the quinella 150 times.
The two runners saluted 1st and 2nd. The winner paid $10 and the second runner was a 5/1 chance. Unitab paid $15, Tabcorp paid $18 and you guessed it, NSW paid $3.30 For a $10 chance to win and a $5 chance to run second (and I might add there was $2.50 unplaced runner) this $3.30 quinella is an absolute disgrace. When the NSW tote was phoned, all they would say was that they could confirm a $150 bet was placed on the winning combination. They would not reveal where the bet came from but I'll give you one guess. |
Alex MY advice/winge [an IAS customer for a long time, but currently non active] is: Step 1: to log onto the HKJC [hong kong jockey club] site and have a good look around ar what is offered as a free service [not product] and note just how much is offered and how smoothly everything works. [I could spend a week on that site just exploring the customer friendly services/aids featured and they are all free ] Step 2: is to log on to your IAS site and have a good look around at the free services [not product] featured which would take about 15 sec. Also note how SLOW everything is and generally how 'buggy' the site is. Step 3: would be to prise Mark Read's wallet out of his [tight] back pocket and pinch a few lousy quid to invest some money on site programing and customer service down here at the ar.. end of the world. Heck, the guy can afford a year round perm. suite/apartment at the Park Hyatt [highest rated hotel in Aust.] next to the pollies offices at the top of Collins in Melb. paid for by IAS customers, so it's no wonder to find a bit of neg. feedback here. Perhaps using the same tech. mob HKJC use and spending a bit of dosh on a few miserable site services/punter aids might help members feel a bit more valued. Even 10% of the punter services offered by HKJC would be a giant step forward in customer relations by IAS. The Problems for HK racing [wish we had their problems !] is probably more to do with the Mainland takeover and large exit of capital than any of the reason you have mentioned. Cheers.
