Well said breadman, have to agree with you.read on Racenet that it won a trial the other day by 8 lengths or so hard held. You would expect it to run this lot ragged with sheer speed.

Heard that Elton John will be running against on age..
Will be no value in this race..Great to watch though very interested in how In the Night has come back..Impaler also |
Spark of Life is a very exiciting horse who should win. But may be a bit short.
|
I reckon a fair price for spark of life would be around the $1.30 mark. Anyone got an opinion on that. Defiantly to short for my liking i remember seeing kingston town beaten at 1/5 in a 6 horse field at randwick one year.

the event is a non-event.
a hot shot horse in a small field of duffers. must be more interesting races than this to look at on saturday. |

Bit harsh Topsy calling horses like Into The night and Impaler Duffers..
I think Impaler will get a nice run behind Spark of life and might just run it down .. |
your're probably right.
i used to look forward to the season openers particularly the first 3 or four saturdays in august as they usually brought up the past seasons graduating horses but they seem thin on the ground. sydney has lost its magic over recent years and i dont know what will rescue it. one or two good horses are not enought. the lonhro's and defiers are one thing but the other good horses seem to lack longevity. grand armee is an exception but generally most of the fade so quickly that the racing loses its appeal. but i know i shouldnt knock but sydney should be able to do much better. bigger fields, good horses performing longer/multiple seasons would help. |
