I can't really explain it to you other than to say that this system seems to work better than anything else they've tried. I don't like the fact that they take wickets into account though. I don't think it should matter how many wickets you've lost. Like DP said, if Australia had been no wickets down when the rain came, they would have been chasing a lower total.
It's gone from just over 5 an over to just over 7 an over. Given that Australia only has to last 28 overs, that's not too bad. If the side batting second only had to score at 5.2 an over for 28 overs that would be too much of an advantage. Isn't going to matter anyway as it looks like Australia will struggle to make 100. As I said, Australia has a SHOCKING record in day-night games in Brisbane and a SHOCKING record against the West Indies in Brisbane. Statistics suggested that the Windies were good value once they won the toss and batted. |
I am just praying for the heavens to open up now!! Benaud keeps saying it is really coming down now, but i guarantee the umpires wont make them come off.
