Mad,
I've mentioned this before. I noticed previously that when the Unitab late mail tips start at $10+, you can get some very nice results. I think someone came back with some figures which suggested that it wasn't actually that great, but as far as I'm concerned, I reckon you could do worse than at least include them in multis. |
Cool thanks Sportz.
Usually Unitab late mail selections mean the kiss of death for me if my selection matches. What is going on with all these horses escaping the barriers today? |
Don't know. Robbo's doing well, isn't he?

Well, that was what I found once when I did a little study of the late mail. Back the whole lot of them and you'll certainly go backwards. But I noticed that if you only backed the ones at double figures (which wasn't very many), you could sometimes get some nice results. As I said, that was only a short test though. |

LOL, few beers with lunch perhaps. |

Thanks For Seven Stars. Paid $8.60 & $2.30. :D You had it clearly rated on top. Appreciate it X and good luck. |
Hi Mad
Usually Unitab late mail selections mean the kiss of death for me if my selection matches.
__________________ yep thats what I reckon Mad..I hate it when my picks are Lm..... at any price...and you know I seldom back anything short. THanks Xpt for Seven Stars 9.00 on sportingbet. I owe you one Cheers ! BTW Well done with Aisle Sportz..enjoyed your story..and I remember that horse..but not the race. |

Alright so the tip is number 6 Pharsna. Had a look at the form and am happy to have Mugwump in as 2nd. Any thoughts on 3rd for a trifecta? I am tempted to just go 6 - 7 - F at this stage... Sale Race 7 by the way.... |
Quote:
Sounds like you might be onto Pharsna. I like Danzig's Delight, Mugwump and maybe Beetoo for a bit of value |
Quote:
Hmmm, I just had a little each way on Stashed Away which xpt tipped on here. Didn't know about Seven Stars. |

Would have thought Cordane and/or ReignForest are chances. The toppy seems to prefer a bit of cut in the ground but worth considering. My ratings say 1-8-4. |
Nice work with Grand Legend and Kildonan Road xpt. I liked those two as well, so I had a good result there.
This little system of yours sure looks a good one for finding placegetters as well as the occasional winner. Well done. |

No worries stix.... I hope you had a little bit on Hobsons choice at Townsville as well |

no worries 924 |

Thanks sportz... it just has to stand up over time is all :) |
Anyone rate Red Zulu in the next? Might have a little 1*3 action. Fingers crossed.
|

No worries. Good when things work out like they did today. :) |

No Such luck X.... :( Due to being under the pump, restricted the races to class 2 and over..... doh! Good luck fella. I owe you one... |
Thanks Imagele and Mad... Basically put them all in for 3rd.
Am happy to leave out the bottom 3 and hope they don't get close. Bets are: exacta 6 / 7 tri 6 / 7 / 1,4,5,8,9 And a little something on the nose.... All or nothing, am not a fan of variety...... :) |
I just had an each way on Mr humerus..but I dont know why...did anyone mention this horse awhile back?
It was either a "mistake" or it stuck in my mind for a reason...it was an outsider barrier horse..maybe that was it.. No worries stix.... I hope you had a little bit on Hobsons choice at Townsville as well That horse rang alarm bells for me too XPT ..and I couldnt remember why..so when ole humerus came up I thought B**& it I'll have a go..dont want to miss out again... LOL |

You little beauty! Nice price too w924. Onya mate. |
Nice goin with Mr Humerus w924... well done

Damn those exotics....... Ruin me every time.... :) |
XPT, I am deep in your debt..AGONY..your 2nd rated at value...Thanks again! Ive made up a lot of ground today. All the very best to you.
|
Left home to take Pharsna/Danzigs Delight to win in a trifecta. Mugwump and Beetoo in for second. Bally Legend, Cordane,Reignforest for 3rd.
Ended up taking Danzigs Delight and Mugwump. All I have left to go is North Alert 1 out in the Quaddie. My advice from past experience is to back something to beat it. Have about 50 3 legged quaddie tickets with my one out selection being beaten at short odds. They usually miss the kick. |
Scone R7/3 e/w or place
It will come last or fall over now I have tiped a l/shot. Last looks pomising. Jumps in 8min.:-) Yep, last. |
I've now got 51 3 legged quaddie tickets and am hanging up the boots on that form of betting.
Lame effort by the favourite. 3rd horse Rekum, a 5yo mdn. u/pl 5 runs before today. 2nd horse Sir Braveheart, 5 wins at the picnics for $5000-00 in prizemoney before today. |

I don't usually play exotics at all. Just occassionally. I like to know what I will return before the jump. Give me fixed odds win betting every time... |

Why is the "Quaddie" such a HUGE deal in Victoria? (I assume you come from Victoria). When I listen to Sport927, I get the impression that it's almost like an unspoken thing that if you live in Victoria, you simply HAVE to take a quaddie. |
Quote:
Yep. Quaddies are the stuff legends are made of...... During the cricket season, every drinks break would involve discussions of who won the last..... even had guys field at fine leg to hear the races on the car radio - over the fence..... Many a story has been re-told around the bar.... not of the "Michelle Phiffer" someone got one Saturday..... but the big Quaddie they "caught".... They are a fine institution..... yet to secure a BIG one myself.... but gotta be in it to win it.... |
Scone R9-5 Queen Jill (1x2) ;)

Thank You Barubi Gold and Sportz's mate G Ryan as you got me square on what was an ordinary day. Hope you guys went well.
|
Quote:
Well as far as my system betting, it got my losses for the day back into 3 figures, so all is good. Got a nice little bonus on my tip for the day, so all in all, not too bad considering... I guess you can't win em all.... |
Yep, good old Greg Ryan in the last race again. Go you good thing.

No I don't live in Victoria but I bet only on Victorian racing. I can't explain my fixation with exotic betting except that you tend to get hooked. I once collected $3300-00 for a $12-00 outlay and have been dabbling ever since. I don't outlay huge amounts on this form of betting hence the continuing frustration at regularly going close but almost always missing out. Today I had Alto Adige, Erskine Bay and Balla Marie 1st leg, Kildonan Road, Grand Legend and I Do Blue 2nd leg, Danzigs Delight, Pharsna Mugwump and Beetoo 3rd leg into North Alert one out. Cost, $18-00/50c unit. Another fixation I have is trifecta betting. If I could show you the list of long priced winners I have had over the years and never collected a cent because of missing the places in correct order, you would have me locked up.( usually outlay $10-00-$20-00 with 2 selections to win and other combinations for 2nd and 3rd.) I often think I will have to take a break and come back a reformed win only bettor. |
Hi Mad
"Thank You Barubi Gold and Sportz's mate G Ryan as you got me square on what was an ordinary day. Hope you guys went well."
Good on you Mad and Sportz.. was a very good bet and Xpt and I liked it too. But did I back it? No LOL.. Good luck today Wed everyone. |
Ryan only got one winner from five starts yesterday. While he certainly gets his fair share of winners, whenever I'm on him you can be sure he won't ride the first one home!!!

Well, you wouldn't back him in every race! In fact, I only backed him in one race yesterday. The last race. If you hadn't already noticed, I love backing certain jockeys in the last race of the day providing they're on a good chance. |
