Second here, second ther, second every b* where - I give up I think. NZ racing runs rings around the sort of stuff dished up to us . I haven't worked out a method of evaluating the merit of a horse running 3rd in a field of 5 which is the kind of stuff one has to be thinking about when trying to evaluate local form. Going back through these results I have eliminated all non-metropolitan meetings and done the figures for Saturday's only as that was the basis of my original research. I kept trying to make a profit including midweeks and Sundays but didn't succeed doing this. Taking Saturdays only into account the figures before yesterday read 182 bets, outlay on win only bets $182, return $153.2, loss of $28.8. I'll continue listing Saturday's only and any jumping races.
