You're Just a youngster, Sportz. When you get mid-fifties, you get to feel every injury you ever had before again, with arthritis thrown in for fun. The hangovers hurt more than they used to... Life truly does begin at 40, if you're older than that. I hope you had a great birthday.

Agree Glenn mid-fiftties is the time when all the previous years activities punish you, and to make matters worse the mrs starts to look like the ma-in-law, and behave like her.
Then you get the senior moments, which can be fun especially when you back the wrong gee-gees, matter of fact thats par for the course for me...
All down hill from here onwards mate:D

Sportz 7th January 2006 01:06 PM

Sorry. Bit of a hitch with posting the tips today. Be back in a while with them. :o

Also had some nice results with the multi selections.

Thanks for the # 17 horse in Geelong R4 Sportz. It went off at 22-1 on my TAB, and I tied it to the #11 Nick Ryan was riding for a $2 quinella of $97.

Regards,

Glenn

Sportz 8th January 2006 01:14 PM

Yeah, very nearly led all the way at good odds. Good win by Specard though.

I have no idea what happened here. I was confident with 3 & 2. Sorry. :o

Sportz 9th January 2006 01:08 PM

Not a very exciting day's racing today. For what it's worth, if you play around with these somehow, perhaps you can come out in front:

KILMORE R7 - 9 COMOSA & 1 DANNI'S BAY (9,1,3,4,8)
KILMORE R8 - 6 XAARBARELLA & 1 OVER THE PHONE (6,1,2 - 4,5,7)
NOWRA R1 - 5 ROLADEX & 1 PRIDE OF PINS (5,1,3 - 4,6,2)

Sportz 9th January 2006 05:05 PM

Well, 3 wins from 3 first selections, so not too bad. :)

Well done Sportz.

Looks like 2006 is off to a good start for you and your "tweaked" selection method.... Good Luck Fella.

Sportz 10th January 2006 01:16 PM

I thought yesterday was uninspiring, but today probably looks even tougher.

CESSN R1 - 3 CANNON BALL TOUCH (danger 6) (3,6,9 - 1,5,2)
CESSN R5 - 1 WOODLINE (dangers 12 & 3) (1,12,3 - 6,5,10)
ST. CK R3 - 9 MISS NAMIBIA (dangers 6 & 2) (9,6,2 - 7,4,3)
ALBANY R7 - 8 DAVE'S DILEMMA & 3 TRY A TUNE (8,3,4 - 2,9,10)

Sportz 10th January 2006 01:48 PM

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying to give tips??? I mean, seriously, a lot of the time, it's just much more successful to simply go with the money. Race 3 at Stony Creek and Race 1 at Cessnock have both gone to the horse which was very well backed at the track, and in both cases, they won easily, while my top selection struggled into 4th and 3rd place.

Sportz,

IMHO, It is a very ordinary day today for punting. I had too look to Albany to find my bet for the day..... and I'm still not enthused with it :(

I think on days like today.... best to either leave it alone or have very small wagers......

Good Luck Fella....

Sportz 10th January 2006 04:06 PM

I agree. A shocking day. I'm undoing any good work from yesterday. Cessnock Race 5 was a real embarassment!!! I wasn't even close.

But the worst thing is that I ended up NOT tipping Stony Creek R6-8 Share Boom which was the ONLY horse I had picked out after going through the fields last night. For some reason which I can't explain, I've left it out altogether when I posted my tips today. :(

Yeah, done that, and I've actually managed a profit so far, but it's still disappointing when your tips posted on here turn out to be absolute donkeys.

Sportz 10th January 2006 07:24 PM

Last race at Albany was an okay result. That's more like it.

maverick1993 11th January 2006 10:57 AM

You're doing well Sportz...i've all but given up during the week ..i only bet on certain video specials that come up..and even then they have to rate very high as well..
My first week back in the saddle for awhile and my eyes are going square after catching up on the videos....
Good luck :)

Well, I myself concentrate mainly on Saturdays, Public Holidays and major feature race days. Those are the only days when I'm tipping best bets and keeping a record of results. Only small bets for me on other days, but I realise that others still like to bet 7 days a week, so that's why I provide tips every day, even when I'm not really keen.

Really don't know what happened with Your Latest trick. 6 previous starts on wet tracks for 4 wins and 2 2nds!!! I tip him and he runs last!!! :(

Sportz 11th January 2006 02:42 PM

I think I'll give up trying to tip multis. 3 times today I've had the winner, but something I've totally ignored has snuck home in 3rd place. Perhaps we should take one horse to win from another 3 or 4 horses for 2nd, and the field for 3rd.

Sportz, it's the way I go............ (especially with Brian's tips) ;)

Stix 11th January 2006 02:50 PM

Devonport Cup

Might have a small go at Petite Oiseau (5) in the Devonport Cup.... currently $19.20 and $3.90 (go 1 x 2).....

Sportz 11th January 2006 03:01 PM

Well, you certainly got a good run for your money there, but good old Brendan McCoull has done it again. :)

Hmmm. Likewise, Swift Jeune had won 4 of his 5 first-up runs before today, as well as 2 of 3 at the track and 4 of 7 at the distance. I can sure stop 'em!!! :)

Sportz 12th January 2006 02:27 PM

And I had the trifecta this time. :)

Despite NOT including the 7 in my tips :o , it was so well supported at the track and on the TAB, I just had to include it.

In all, a total of 8 winners from 10 races. (6 out of 7 from the best betting races) Can't complain about that. Not huge prices though.
