Do you have a sleeping problem sportz? or are you dedicated to the cause 24 hrs a day?

I noticed quite often when I was sick and wasn't sleeping was often posting around 2 and 3 in the morning that Sportz was quite often around at that stage aswell maybe the guy can just live on very little sleep if so your a better man than I

No daylight saving up here. It was 3:20 am!!!

I simply woke up in the middle of the night and was having a bit of trouble getting back to sleep, so I decided to go on the computer for an hour or so.

Just had a quick look over everyone's selections for the comp. Noticed that 13 of 17 of us selected Lad of the Manor for our fantasy stables! Sure hope he has a good Autumn. Also noticed that Proprietor was the only horse in tomorrow's Lightning Stakes that wasn't selected by someone in the comp. Proprietor is one of only two in the field to have won at Flemington and also to have won at the distance. Would have thought someone would have selected it. That said, Proprietor opened up the Fixed Odds pricing at IAS at $51.

I'll be smiling if Undoubtedly gets up tomorrow, as I'm its' only supporter. Regardless, hopefully I'll end up with something for the day, as I've got 6 selections running tomorrow.

I'm very sorry if I didn't explain the rules properly or perhaps you didn't read them properly, but in fact, that is how we will be deciding the winner this year. The person who ends up with the highest balance on June12 will be the winner.

That's why I said that there was a lot more strategy involved with picking the stable this time. It was up to everyone exactly how much of their $5million bank they decided to use on their original stable. Most people decided to leave themselves with at least $500,000 left in the bank, while I myself decided to pick as good a stable as I possibly could and I spent the whole $5million. I just assumed you decided to do the same.

At the end of each month, if we want to buy new horses, we will only be able to spend as much money on trades as we have in our bank at the time. And what money we DO spend on trades comes out of our bank, so our balance will drop. As I said, there's a lot more strategy involved this time.

It will be a very interesting comp, I think. It's a bit like a handicap event, because the people up the top at the moment are there simply because they chose a cheaper stable, BUT because they chose a cheaper stable, they have less of the top horses and it's likely that others will catch up. You will notice that most of the top prizemoney earners from the first week are down the bottom half of the table, but I personally think there is every chance that one of those people will be in the lead or close to it by the end of the month.

Again, I'm very sorry if I didn't explain this well enough in my original post.

My bad sportz. What can i say about my stable-I am not the kind of guy you leave 500,000 burning a hole in my pocket. If i have $$ i spend them!

I have given some below average stables a nice healthy head start but confidence is high, repeat confidence is high i can catch them come comps end.

I'm afraid you've made a mistake with your stable. You included a horse called Studio in your 2YO list, and I've found out it's a 3YO. I should have checked up on this before the deadline.

Anyway, the story is that you now have to take her out and replace her with a 2YO costing $50,000 - $150,000. And it must be a horse that hasn't raced since the deadline on Feb2.

He was the very last horse I put in my stable too. I strongly considered not including him, but put him in at the last minute, and now that's $500,000 down the drain.

We could make a pretty damn good field out of all the top horses which will be missing from the big races this autumn. Very disappointing!!!

Well I am glad I didn't choose him. I did look but thought its form last year wasn't quite good enough considering the price it cost to buy...

500K isn't much Sportz you still have a good stable.

Yea big blow here to mate might have really hurt my chances there that injury but ohwell life goes on who knows might be able to pull a miracle.

FYI - California Dane and Vroom Vroom are both scratched from the C.F. Orr Stakes.

It would have been interesting to see how California Dane would have raced today against such a strong Group 1 field. Apparently Lee Freedman will now either Spell California Dane or let it run the Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley next week. The Australia Stakes 1200m distance seems to be more California Dane's distance anyway, though it had been the favourite at 1400m today before being scratched.

Don't know about you guys, but my 2yo prospects are looking pretty ********** after today's races. :(

I see that Jet Spur has been retired with a tendon injury, so there's a few people who might want to replace him next month.

I'm looking forward to Saturday's Blue Diamond. My best chance is probably Satin Robes, as Jumlah ran a pitiful 7th in the Prelude, and I don't think Kaphero's connections have paid the $55,000 for a late entry fee yet because the colt only managed 4th in its' Prelude race.

You should be sitting pretty Sportz with Miss Finland as your stable star. I reckon the race will come down to either Nediym's Glow, Due Sasso or Miss Finland. And none of us have either Nediym's Glow or Due Sasso. Regardless, if someone selects the winner of the Blue Diamond, they will get a very nice boost to their bank. Good luck everyone.

You've done exceptionally well so far. Nearly every single one of your stable has earned prizemoney and considering you started with $800,000 left over in the bank, that's a top effort.

I think you have a pretty good chance with Satin Robes too. When I chose my stable, I tossed up between Jumlah and Satin Robes for the 3rd 2YO spot and I've obviously gone the wrong way there.
