Not totally sure, but I think you may have severely underestimated Mr Ed's score!!! Didn't he have 100 win on Correct Amoondo? I know because I backed that one too today. :)

Spot on Sportz [if you backed it too, you should have been in the comp.:-)]. Thanks. I also made the mistake of awarding 20 points to the top of ladder when that is not available until all scores are in at the end of the comp. [it makes a difference]. Hope that is the last of the mistakes and teething problems. If not no big deal, we'll sort it out by tomorrow.

Good kick off punters. Please mark bets clearly next week for those that didn't. See rule 9 I have added below. It makes scoring a lot easier.


Rules again:

1.100 units every Sat. [any scratching carry over to following Sat.].
2. Straight win or place bets only.
3 Tip amounts can be 100, 50 or 25 units only [so you could have a 50 unit bet and 2x25, 4x25 or 1x100 or 2x50 etc.
4. Scoring is eg: $2.80 = 28, $10.80 = 108 etc.
5. All bets in by 2pm. sharp or for earlier race starts, 30 min. before jump only to avoid SP monitoring [you can change your bets before 2pm. only].
6. A missed Sat. carry's over units to following Sat. as with scratchings. 2 missed Saturdays in a row and you forfeit the points you missed.
7. Late starters start in comp at zero.
8. 20 extra points awarded at end of comp. for every Sat. on top of ladder.
9. Please make sure you post: Race meeting, Race number, horse No., horse name, bet.

How's this for a yarn that happened to me today. Went down to the pub for a few drinks and fun bets with a few mates. Wasn't doing jack. 2nds 3rds. upl. [got Undue in the Sale quality later].

Handbrake turns up to get me to come home as we had some visitors lobing a bit later and wants me sober. It's 3.20pm. Tell her to have a bet [I get to stay longer:-)]. She has $20 bucks on Sapphire Coast R5/10 Honorable Impact [she likes the local trainer and it's last run]. Bets $20 because she knows to stay longer [at $20 a bet and I'm paying] is going to cost me. The ****** thing wins paying 29.90 !! I just about dropped dead and so did half the bar. I never got my $20 back I gave her to bet with either !

I'd be using Unitab divs though, because that's easier for me.

Good on you Sportz. You can use any scoring system you like. I'm not sure what you want to do about present scores though, leave them as is or change them to uni-tab? Probably fine to leave them for the first week unless there is a protest. I'll leave it up to you.

Post #10 was my post where I quoted your post kounerov about $1 =1unit. There were no selections in your post. something stuffed up or you forgot to add the selections. I quoted your whole post.


I'll take your word, but I can't speak for everyone. Unless there is some confirmation from others regarding your selections [I never saw your bets but I wasn't looking]. Post 10# 1st. page, proves you joined the comp. but missed placing your bets. So under the rules you are entitled to an extra 100 units next week. Fair enough?

I thought it was best I went back and work out all the totals using Unitab divs as I'll be using them from now on. (By the way, you're right. Accounting isn't your strong point :)) Mr Ed may not be happy as his score drops from 610 to 540.

Sportz is responsible for all scoring now D105. He has re-scored everyone [which would have included checking everyones bets again] using uni-tab. If he has missed you, you will have to take it up with him. Scoring is no longer my problem. I freely admit I suck at it :-)

PS: kournerov, like I said I believed you. I would have been happy to score you on your selections, someone else might not have been happy with that decision though and might point out rules are rules. Then what do I do?

Personally, if anybody scores ZERO, then I don't bother including them in the results for that week. On most occasions, I would think that the people in question are actually quite pleased about that. ;)

With regard to Kournerov, I think crash is right. We can hardly count selections that don't appear on the forum.
