not sure why,,,i cant see Hara racing any better than that ....
Beadman thought the same thing after the race,,,

crash 16th September 2007 03:32 PM

EL SEGUNDO for sure!

Raw Instinct 16th September 2007 03:54 PM

I would be all over Efficient on yesterdays performance that was sensational another 400m will only help him where alot of the other contenders I feel are somewhat suspect at the trip he is $13w and $4p right now and I feel the only reason for that is the uncertainty of whether he will run in the race, I am starting to think the reason why Steven Arnold is riding this bloke is because the Cox Plate is what they prefer as he wouldn't cop a penalty for taking it out where he would cop one for the Caulfield Cup, Rembering ofcourse that Arnold can't ride a light weight making it almost impossible for him to be riding Maybe Better in the cups.

Chuck 16th September 2007 04:06 PM

yeah, efficients run was a slasher, i'm still unsure what they are aiming him at, but he still looks the goods! i thought the way cinque cento held on after going with activation at that cracking pace was a good sign, but i dont think hes a winning chance, but still could be there for a place in CP/CC.

Hope you've taken a really big bite...the one they all have to beat

thebigguy 23rd September 2007 07:47 PM

I have unloaded on Miss Finland. She looks the goods!

crash 24th September 2007 09:22 AM

MISS FINLAND. $3.00 $1.50
EL SEGUNDO. $4.50 $1.87
HARADASUN. $5.50 $2.12
MARASCO. $6.00 $2.25

I certainly wouldn't be taking any of those early odds. They will be just as good on the day and anything can happen to the horses before the Cox.

thebigguy 24th September 2007 09:51 AM

Crash you make a good point. But I think Miss Finland will start shorter and am willing to take the risk.

Cheers

crash 24th September 2007 10:12 AM

Might start longer too!

Raw Instinct 24th September 2007 06:41 PM

I like Miss Finland and Efficient right now and contrary to alot of thoughts on this race it does look rather weak to me this year as it has been for a few years now, obviously the loss of NSW and QLD horses isn't helping the depth in alot of these races but there really doesn't seem to be alot of hopes in this.

crash 25th September 2007 08:42 AM

Efficient is a 'grinder' more suited to the Cups [especially the Melbourne] I think. Anything winning the Cox will have to be able to unleash a fast finishing 200m sprint. Something Efficient just can't do.

thebigguy 25th September 2007 09:29 AM

Efficent is a special for the Melbourne Cup.

Unload now!

Cheers

I disagree to an extent on Efficient he can win this race as I feel everyone of the favs are a massive question mark at 2040m they walked last year that is why El Segundo got so close it wasn't a hard run 2040m if they put the pace on in this race Haradasun, El Segundo and Marasco are absolutely no hope in my opinion.

I thought it was a great run by Miss Finland last start. Her effort to get within coo-ee of the winner at the end was remarkable. El Segundo the danger.

westman 1st October 2007 09:17 AM

Been a lot of talk the chance of Weekend Hussler being a late nom for this race??

thebigguy 1st October 2007 09:59 PM

Miss Finland will have Weekend's measure. She definately looks the goods!

Cheers
