Whats the forecast for tomorrow, more rain or a fine day, i like watching games in the rain.

moeee 14th August 2004 05:32 PM

Just had a look out the window.Your in luck Mr Goldmember. This rain ain't stopping for no-one.Trouble is I don't think the Telstra dome roof leaks.

goldmember 14th August 2004 05:39 PM

Sorry, i just looked it up and thats the only game in melb tomorrow

moeee 15th August 2004 08:24 PM

Played around with Olympic games and dropped $38.
Took an AFL foursome, but had the Kangaroos at +18.5,so another $20
Treble come in with a collect of $147 brings the Bank balance to $737.50
Strange, when you tell the world about your views, you end up with egg on your face. But when you keep it hush-hush,the bankroll thickens.
Maybe Sportznut,Goldmember and Rabbitz knew about this secret influence all along.

goldmember 15th August 2004 08:30 PM

Same thing happened to me moeee when i 1st started posting my bets, they were losing and heard everyone talking about the FORUM CURSE, but it seems to have started to wear off after a couple of hundered bets.

sportznut 15th August 2004 08:37 PM

Since I posted the rules of my homedog system, it has done brilliantly, but I still don't post the selections on here each week, and the 'forum curse' is the major reason for that.

moeee 15th August 2004 08:40 PM

I'm thinking it works like this.
We make our selections differently when we know that we are going to show them to the world.
Bit like picking your nose.In private I might or might not do it all the time. But in public, never.
Every year, about this time,I learn things ready for next year. But every year these things I learn don't help.
Think I might have to write a book and have it superglued to my forehead.Better still, chop off my head and superglue book onto my neck.

Live a little moeee pick it in public. You'll love the reactions

goldmember 15th August 2004 08:43 PM

After the olympics is finished i'll be getting stuck into the horses again, watched the replays of SYD/MELB/BRIS/ADEL races and got a couple of next timers to back, sportz have you got your system twigged yet.

Yeh sportz. By my reckoning you're 2 weeks over due. Bring it on!

sportznut 15th August 2004 08:53 PM

Not yet Goldmember. What a damn slow frustrating process it is!!! Probably spending too much time on here. Anyway, ready or not, I'll definitely start posting racing tips again when the olympics are over and the big Spring races come around.

Speaking of 'next-timers', I got a terrible feeling on Saturday. While listening to the races, I suddenly heard a horse called Nasrullah King get up and win a race at Newcastle. After it's last start, I'd actually marked it down as a horse to follow, but come Saturday and of course I didn't even notice it running. I'm going to have to start using Racenet's Blackbook service again.

goldmember 15th August 2004 09:02 PM

I looked at it, but in the end never had a horse bet, just all football, but i'll keep a closer eye on them from this saturday.

moeee 18th August 2004 10:57 AM

The Olympics got me for another $10 so the Bank is at $727.50
After analysis it has come down to this:

Port Power -10 $1.77
Sydney +3 $1.49
St.Kilda +5 $2.33
Fremantle +17 $1.74

Now I may or may not be combining these selections.I shall let you know on Monday.
My full revelations will recommence at Round 22.

rabbitz 19th August 2004 01:42 PM

Hows this lot
St George -5.5=$1.53
Kangaroos -11.5=$1.42
Melbourne demons -11.5=$1.69
West Coast WIN =$1.52
All up $5.58
Cheers
I have purposely stayed away from Port at the 'G',Collingwood at any venue,Bumblers at any venue, lions and saints (want to sit and watchwithout any added stress)Adelaide and Geelong could go any which way, dont know how cats go in adelaide. So what do you think,as I respect most posters on this forum except czar who is not invited to comment as usual
Have worked out that I am showing a $345 profit since May despite recent horror run
cheers

mug punta 19th August 2004 03:17 PM

gday rabbitz, If it was me id change Lions for Eagles. The Eagles probly deserve to be favourite but are no value at 1.56. Those derbys are always pretty close.
Have faith in ur boys, they will be 2 good for the saints especially with Lynch back.
Then you have the double joy of watching them get the 4 points and a collect on the punt. Better than sex!!!

moeee 19th August 2004 05:41 PM

No Mug Punta.Let him watch the game without the stress of the bet.
Bit like having sex while you're expecting the courier within the next two hours.

rabbitz 19th August 2004 05:54 PM

Dont worry moesy i,ll be watching only
what do you think about eagles and dokers
wcoast -11.5 too much?
cheers

goldmember 19th August 2004 06:16 PM

Looks o'k on paper, but the only one i would be stressing over is melb, not one of my teams as i've tipped carlton to win.

What! RABBITZ,no rabbits this week. ?

moeee 20th August 2004 12:17 PM

Well after bonusses and penalties and Vibes and guts,it's come down to this:

Port Power -16
Sydney -3
St.Kilda +12
Fremantle +24

Not prepared to divulge the combinations, but it has set me back $160.
Bank now stands at a precarious $566.50

moeee 22nd August 2004 09:46 AM

Half a point.Pass the vodka Rabbitzov.
Took a saver Multi like this:
Sydney -19.5
Brisbane -19.5
$25 @ $4.20

Well Port is home and Sydney is home now I just need to avoid the Sunday ************ Sunday.

moeee 22nd August 2004 03:45 PM

No team should be allowed to be that good!

Small saver on Brisbane makes Bank stand at $635.

rabbitz 22nd August 2004 03:56 PM

Rooarrrr!!!!!!!

moeee 27th August 2004 10:36 AM

Bank was $620 and after this lot of Multis,it's down to $445.

Melbourne +26
Geelong -37
$50 @ $4.47 =$223.50

Collingwood +3
Melbourne +26
Geelong -37
$30 @ $7.65 =$229.50

Melbourne +26
Geelong -37
Kangaroos +60
$40 @ $6.75 =$270

Collingwood +3
Melbourne +26
Geelong -37
Kangaroos +60
$30 @ $11.55 =$346.50

Geelong -47
Port Power -23
$25 @ $6 = $150

goldmember 27th August 2004 10:44 AM

Moeee, your putting a lot of faith in melbourne, what start do you think they need.

mug punta 27th August 2004 10:55 AM

I agree totally Goldmember. I can't see logically how anyone can be confident that the Dees can win, so then surely your just hoping that West Coast doesn't smash 'em.
If i think one team is much more likely to win, i'd always prefer to back them to beat the spread, then simply hope that my team doesn't get pulverised.

goldmember 27th August 2004 11:26 AM

I see moeee that you tipped the eagles by 10,so you must think it will be closer than many think, if so, the + 26 is a safe cushion for you, good luck.

rabbitz 27th August 2004 11:33 AM

Rabbs, i was looking at the broncos /souths game for my multis and see there is still no LOCKYER and WEBKE so i left that game alone, and i think the eels are specials to win[the storm were my specials last week]

rabbitz 27th August 2004 10:34 PM

Collingwood +3 Mo
How are ya strides
cheers

moeee 28th August 2004 09:24 AM

Had a quarter quad going up till half time.Needed the Pies to lead the 3rd and fourth quarters by between 13 and 36 points.
They usually pay over a couple hundred for your five bob so I was not happy Jan when Carlton came home hard after the main break.
So 3 quarter time that was that. Then I wasn't sure whether I Multied Collingwood at plus 3 or minus 3 points.
Then in the final minutes it didn't seem to matter.I'm gone. Then the Punting Gods parted the sky asunder and smote the umpire into awarding the Pies a kick at goal with a minute to go.
Multi lives.Long Live The Multi.

moeee 28th August 2004 09:42 AM

Haven't had a good look at your stats,Goldmember but I believe Melbourne seem to do allright in WA.
But the biggest guarantee is that the Mug Punta has gone off them and he can hardly take a trick at the moment.
I think the appropriate margin is the Eagles by 10 points.

moeee 28th August 2004 10:19 AM

Too much adrenalin flowing last night.None left,so I put a small saver on West Coast.
Bank is now $425.

moeee 29th August 2004 05:22 PM

Thought I'd give the ratings a burl,it being the last round an'nat.
Guts was telling me the Demons aren't playing well but I still went the ratings.
Kangaroos not playing well either but I still went the ratings.Although I still thought 60 points start should have been enough.
Thought the Power would go away with it as well.
Looking back, after the race mind you,I could have left out Melbourne and put in Port Power for a winning weekend.
As it was I had a saving double with Eagles and Geelong. But lost another $20 on Geelong into Power to win by 40 plus.
Anyway Bank was $405 and now it's $651.20 so should get through the final series with the starting Bank of $300 intact.MAYBE!

moeee 1st September 2004 05:25 PM

My teams and margins this week.

Port Power -14
Brisbane -19
Sydney -5
Melbourne +5

Most,if not all,are at the $1.66 mark.
Probably combine them in trebles for $40 and a quadrella for $30 to set me back $190.

Slight concern with Melbourne is that I could be flogging a dead horse. But Geez the guts are telling me to get on.
What do you reckon Mugsy.

mug punta 1st September 2004 10:25 PM

I am a don supporter as you know, mo, but with Neitz out and now Heffernen I reckon we will win.
Our top 4 or 5 players are as good as any in the league and I think they will get themselves up for this one. We arent good enough to keep backing that up week in, week out but when they come to play they go pretty well.
Melbourne, well who knows! As you know up to a couple of weeks ago I did rate them, but they are just going.
Fletcher is back in redhot form for Essendon and he is our most important player in terms of structure.
Without Neitz I can see him dominating and setting up all of our defensive play.
It's a tough call but on the balance of probabilities I'd be taking Essendon to win.
In other games im backing Brisbane 1-39, they wont smash the saints unless the saints are already of thinking of week 2 of the finals.Kossie makes a HUGE difference to their structure. Dont kiss your flag bets away yet. Imagine if they do get over the Lions how good your bets will be looking then!
Im finding the swans eagles clash the hardest to pick. I would only pick the swans because it's in their home state, but I really reckon Telstra Stadium doesn't suit them and it will suit West Coasts running game. Will wait till the last minute before I have a dip on that one, if I bet at all.
I will obviously be having a bet on Geelong to win and at the line but I wont be having too big a bet. They're such good value I dont need to.

rabbitz 2nd September 2004 09:09 AM

Multi
Lions -17.5=
Swans -5.5=
Port Adelaide -11.5=
Penrith -5.5=$1.51
Roosters -9.5=
Havent got final Dividend yet but thats what I'll take leaving some of those dodgy league games alone + I can't Back either Essendon or Melbourne, probably be a nil all draw, after extra time
Cheers

P.S. I will edit in prices when more info
comes to hand, thankyou and Good Morning
As you can see by those multis below Ive changed me mind

Firstly let me say what a pleasure it is to be here again. Now Ive gone crazy on the multiples again,Now normally I'm a little conservative and where has it got me recently
so I'm going for some biggies
Penrith -17.5
Lions -35.5
Dividend $6 (if this wins it will cover all the others)
Penrith -25.5
Cronulla -10.5
Roosters -29.5
Demons -26.5
DIVIDEND $250.00
Souths -3.5 (yes the beloved rabbitohs)
Cronulla -11.5
Lions -59.5
Demons -23.5
DIVIDEND $381.00
Lions -17.5
Demons +18.5
Cats +35.5
West Coast +30.5
Penrith -5.5
Souths +18.5
Bulldogs -9.5
Sharks +6.5
Roosters -11.5
