Havent worked out how im going to bet these sides this week yet, but, I will be more conservative after copping a hammering last week. Was probly trying to show off in front of this forum. ****************!!
In some shape or form I like Pies at the start, Lions to win, Geelong to win, Freo at the line.

moeee 20th August 2004 12:00 PM

Its been a while between drinks for me and some others,I hear moeee has been raiding the sons piggy bank again
Cheers

Floydyboy 20th August 2004 06:28 PM

Just the 3 mentioned above
Geelong
Port
Melbourne

Mr J 21st August 2004 07:31 AM

Adelaide +13.5
Sydney -10.5
Bulldogs +30.5 (hate backing collingwood, richmond or the bulldogs).

sportznut 21st August 2004 09:25 AM

Yeah, I hate backing Collingwood, because I can't stand them and they usually put in a shocker when I back 'em (eg. last night). Want to stick solid with the system though.

moeee 21st August 2004 09:26 AM

Never mind Mug Punta. At least your consistent.
And it seems that Geelongs mud soaked weary legs don't travel too well in South Australia. And Adelaide at home seem to be knocking off a few favourites.
Sportznut's homedog system is way, way, overdue to come crashing to earth, but the signs are there is more chance of the Messiah coming.
Hey Sportznut. To me it feels like there has been 7 reds in a row and even though the chances of a red coming up next are even money, every cell in the body is screaming that black is a certainty.

Mr J.
A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
Unless he changes the rules.

And Rabbitz,I may or may not have banked on Port to win by over 16 points in any or all of multis that I may or may not have taken.
So the hammer is still hovering.

Mo, Collingwood let me down last night as I suspected they might. Not sure about Adelaide against Geelong. I mean, the Cats have got a top 4 spot to fight for but what have the Crows got to fight for?

I suspect my system may struggle over the last couple of weeks of the season, because as you said, it is due for a fall. Still should finish comfortably ahead for the year.

mug punta 21st August 2004 09:46 AM

Morning mo. You just know come Sunday it's all going to come falling down in a screaming heap don't you!!
Go CATS!!, please!!

moeee 21st August 2004 09:54 AM

Well most problems in my life are caused by me being a black and white man(I don't mean I barrack for the Pies, certainly not last night anyway) living in a shades of grey world.
There is certainly no denying that it is killing them,But Sportznut, did you design this system and if you did, which bank of results did you use and did you test it on a bank of results not included in the design stage?
Only interested in the AFL side.
I just don't see the rationality in the Homedog system.
Obviously there is a strong Form Factor in this selection method that the general punting field has not allowed for.
If the consensus of opinion says that a team should be a certain price, then that is what they should be.
If you have a system that wins on level stakes, there must be a form factor that has been not allowed for in Markets.
I'm thinking it is a mental kind of motivational thing, like "Well,we've got nothing to lose but everything to gain" attitude.
Go Adelaide.Do it for the Nutz.

Floydyboy 21st August 2004 09:59 AM

I dont think the cats have played badly all year I reckon theyll win ....good luck

Floydyboy 21st August 2004 10:02 AM

Ive been told by some keen followers of AFL that this year has been more unpredictable than others .....Is this close to fact or is it a case of time clouding the memeory ?????

moeee 21st August 2004 10:08 AM

Well if you ask Mondays experts,(No Names, but one starts with Sportznut and the other starts with Goldmember)its pretty much business as usual this year Floydyboy.

Yeah Floydboy, in reality im pretty confident. Geelong super defence, Adelaide terrible forward line. Geelong are mentally tough also. Reckon, they will do it pretty comfortably. AS MO will tell you though, I do need a collect

moeee 21st August 2004 10:29 AM

Hey Floydyboy.Heed any advice given with caution.I mean the name says it all don't it.
We all experience runs of outs, and Mug Punta is copping a hiding at the moment.
Mug Punta. Here is some advice for you that is working for me.Relax on the certainty attitude and the praying.Just state the facts and you'll soon be sharing living quarters with Mr J.(He's real rich)

Floydyboy 21st August 2004 12:28 PM

Nope Im not betting anymore footy this weekend Im over on the racing station for most of the arvo layin a few favs... ooops gotta fly.... brisbane coming up

moeee 21st August 2004 03:22 PM

They play tomorrow!

Floydyboy 21st August 2004 05:44 PM

I feel blessed I pulled out after friday night and even layed a few losers today at the races ....I actually feel refreshed but I still wont be betting on any football this weekend

Mr J 21st August 2004 07:18 PM

"Mr J.
A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
Unless he changes the rules."

Yeh. I'd like to rule out those sides but I'm not sure it's possible. Unless it's a common trend, there isn't any basis for it. Never know how it's gonna go moving forward.

Ah yeh, Mo I'm not rich. I just do ok.

moeee 21st August 2004 07:24 PM

Don't know Mr J,if you are into gallopers, but it is much easier to frame an accurate market for the Cox Plate than it is the second division Maiden at Geelong.
I am limited by the number of bets I have each year so I can't afford to not have a bet in every game.If I could narrow my number of bets down it would be to eliminate any game contested by a pair of teams in the bottom half of the ladder.
Eg.Hawks v Richmond
And Bulldogs v Kangaroos.

sportznut 21st August 2004 08:59 PM

Well done the Crows. Never in doubt.

Mr J 21st August 2004 09:39 PM

I actually had Adelaide winning outright comfortably, and the Bulldogs just a 1pt dog. These are just the sort of things you don't say out loud though since people will laugh

mug punta 22nd August 2004 12:07 AM

After 2 weeks, finally a nice little collect.
Swans-12, Bullies+30 and a nice wager on Barry Hall to kick more than LLoydy.
Going to butter up on the Lions 2moro.

Mr J 22nd August 2004 05:33 AM

Got on the dogs in the end? It's a damn shame I didn't take them outright, but then again I'm not crazy (hell even the +30.5 was brave).

Anyway for today:
Brisbane -15.5
Fremantle +14.5

mug punta 22nd August 2004 08:17 AM

Yeah Mr J. Just couldn't back the Roos to win by over 30. Definitely didnt take the $4 on offer about them winning though.
Like your double and think ill probly also throw in the HAWKS for a treble. The tigers are playing heaps of kids.
Really cant see the derby being a blowout in Perth and Freo still looks great value at +15. Time will tell. Cheers.

moeee 22nd August 2004 09:39 AM

Mr J.Are you aware of the pick your own lines that are available?
Rather than betting straight out or the line that is equivalent to $1.90,you could have backed the Western Bulldogs,at say,+15.5 for a price of $2.60

Yep I'm aware of them Mo. Can't remember which book that is at. I know I can't deposit there though (I only use Neteller). Have to get some money in there though, as picking your own lines is very valuable in NRL where you can buy off key numbers.

Looks like you might be right. I hope we didn't talk you out of betting on the game. Did you at least have a small bet on them???

Strange. Pre season I had a bet on West Coast finishing above Fremantle on the ladder and about 6 weeks ago, I'd completely given up hope of winning that bet.
