When working out multis for this comp, please just go to 2 decimal places. That way, your dividend will always end up with a nice round figure. In this case $20 @ $3.06 ($61.20)

I thought St George would win but maybe Souths have got a bit more ticker this year.I know you can't read too much into trial games but it will give them confidence. On the other side of the coin the lions lost,no suprises there
no voss, akermanis, brown ,black.I cant believe so many took the $2.80 on offer
Cheers,from an unbiased LIONS fan

Sportz 20th February 2005 10:50 AM

You're right mate. This comp goes for 33 weeks, so hopefully we'll all have it worked out be that stage. That's if any of us still have any money left by then.

Don't worry Mo. You'll fight back.

Certainly don't like to criticise anyone else after my ridiculous bet, but why did you go so heavily on Brisbane? They just don't take the Wizard Cup seriously at all and I would never have considered backing them. Unfortunately, I didn't have the guts to bet against them either. Really thought Melbourne were pretty good things, but didn't back it up with either real or play money.

Might be wrong, but I was sure Brisbane played in the Grand Final last year!
Didn't consider they would prefer to lose the Wizard game.
Obviously it was the Troy Broadbridge benefit game.

You don't muck around, do you Rabbitz? Going straight for the big dividend like that.

Meanwhile, I'm simply trying to work out a nice 'safe' way of getting back into the black. :o

Yeah well Sportz old mate I would have added St Kilda to that one but the prices werent up this morning so it could have been $8.35 with the divi $1.22 on top.I dont think its that outrageous with the only game concerning me is the reds.Cheers

Opening balance: $500

Bet 1: $30 on Highlanders +6.5
Bet 2: $30 on NSW -10.5
Bet 3: $30 on Sharks +8
Bet 4: $30 on Brumbies -4.5
Bet 5: $30 on Cats +6.

All bets are at $1.90 and will profit $27 if they win.

Bet 6 will be $30 on the Reds, but the line isn't up yet so I'll have to wait on that one.

Closing balance $350.

Sportz 24th February 2005 05:10 PM

Mr J, I assume they were with IAS. They may not put up a line on the Reds game if it's a line ball game. In that case, why not simply look at the 3 bookmakers to find the best price for the Reds to win. I think you should get fairly close to the $1.90 mark. Alternatively, Sportodds has the Reds (-1.5) at $1.95.

Mr J 24th February 2005 06:39 PM

...

Yes they were at IAS.

Opening balance $350.

Bet 6: Reds -1.5 at $1.95 at IAS.

Closing balance $320.

These bets are exactly the same as I bet for real (diff stakes), so if these go south or go well, you know how my real situation is.

Jack Daniels 24th February 2005 07:15 PM

Bet 2 (SportingBet.com.au)

Opening Balance: $610.00

Multi Bet:
  • Highlanders Vs Blues >12.5 $2.65
    x
  • Warratahs <12.5 $3.25 Vs Chiefs
    x
  • Stormers <12.5 $3.05 Vs Sharks

Return: $26.27 x Bet: $10.00 = $262.70

Closing Balance: $600.00

Chuck 24th February 2005 08:48 PM

forgive me if i'm wrong, but i'm guessing you meant Blues <12.5 $2.65, not >12.5
