This is such a hard race to work out as you all know for mine most of the favs looked very flat last start outside Courts in Session and Al Maher. Tui Song would be my top pick she should handle the conditions well and should get back along the inside which going by the saturdy racing is better than pulling out 6 wide into the straight. Al Maher is the hardest to beat for mine he has been racing extremely well as much as it pains me to say that being one of waterhouses horses he should settle not to far off the pace and should be pretty strong at the end of the mile.

Outside of those 2 it is an absolute lottery for me with chances to Courts in Session (have my doubts he can lead this one all of the way) Desert War (couldn't have it on it's last run but is a good galloper) Modem (should be huge odds and he is spot on right now to jump out of his skin as long as he gets a bit of luck) Ikes Dream (not much to fault her except badly in at the weights against Tui Song this time and I felt she should have beat her last start)Sky Cuddle (put the writing on the wall last start she is ready and the wetter the better). If there is more rain today not sure on the forecast then I think one of the better roughies might be Charnwood Green he is huge odds and I will say on a dry track he would have no hope at all against this field but if this track turns into an absolute bog then he has a good chance of running into the placings at around the 80-1 mark

1. #17 Tui Song
2. #14 Al Maher
3. #4 Modem
4. #15 Danni Martine (promoted with the track being upgraded to a dead track)

Good old outside barrier gets 'em again.

mecurial 28th March 2005 02:13 PM

Hmm. Poor ride Nick Ryan, Winning Belle needed to be ridden up on the speed to have any chance.

Patezza flew home though, has improved out of sight in the last month. Great effort Guy Walter getting 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Just looked a little bit too long for Court's In Session.

topsy99 28th March 2005 02:13 PM

patezza hooray.

Sportz 28th March 2005 02:23 PM

Well, I thought a trainer with the initials G.W might get the trifecta, but I was thinking of the wrong one. :o

I'm hoping a roughie gets in the placings..i think Johan's Toy could sneak a place with the weight and extra 100m..not sure she's tough enough though to win and will need all the brakes..
and i dont think This Manshood is all that hopless...was alot to like about his first up run..and was close up last year in this race against a better field..
and is as tough as they come..
Patezza, Danni Martine and Winning Bell look the dangers..

Might just have a crack at the tris and 1st4's in this race ..because i think its fairly open..

Looks like you should have finished well on top mav :)

Snagged the winner Chenille Prince, nice!
Didn't back him but thought Modem was ridden upside down.

sportscaster.

there's some inspired tipping on this forum at times.
last week we had the bunbury cup result and now the doncaster.
i cant get past trying to get the winner. these trifecta picks are outstanding.

i did back danni martine and patezza but i backed 3. horses without a lot of confidence except that my biggest bet of the day was on patezza.
this was due to its consistency and its tendency to get back and finish hard.

i was actually drawn to patezza a couple of starts ago when someone on here made it the lay of the day due to its getting back.
i have backed it twice since for two wins.
even though patezza gets back he was always close at the finish of his races.

Raw Instinct 29th March 2005 06:50 AM

Topsy he has always been a very good horse who just needs an ounce of luck to win races he has gotten that ounce of luck the last couple of times he has been out and gone very close to winning all 3 starts if he gets a straight run at them at the finish then he is hard to hold out.

Sportz 29th March 2005 07:09 AM

Had a couple of dollars on the horse because of the 3312/outside barrier formline but I have to say that the distance put me off him a bit. I'd always thought of him as a sprinter.

topsy99 29th March 2005 03:54 PM

patezza is by rubiton which won a cox plate.
perhaps he was meant to be a stayer which is why he always seemed to arrive late in shorter races.

Raw Instinct 29th March 2005 06:47 PM

You could be right Topsy the way he won yesterday he could certainly get further.
