Wow, you are on fire!
Rating all those races with a flat POT, can I borrow your spreadsheet? (promise not to look at the formulae). ;) |

Gday Chrome yeah it is a real big day for a Friday.. SYD MEL and ADEL all going around, as well as the usual suspects.. I wonder what is going on |
We all have bad days on the punt, and I usually use your tips in conjunction with my longshots as insurance.
At the moment, yours are performing better, so I'm doing pretty well. It's great to have a reliable backup plan. I wonder how many people actually run an insurance plan like this? Of course we could both have bad days and the loss would be greatly increased, but to date, it's panned out very well. The odds of two independant strategies both having a bad day are pretty remote I think. |

Gday Chrome ya finally asked an easy one :) Seriously, the formulae are so simple.. I worked the formulae out and it did manually in Excel for ages, ( ihave no clue of automation and macros) before a truly generous bloke who posts here, not often enough for my liking, made me a file that fully automates my formulae for me.. It even sorts em .. And he did it for nicks...We couldnt work out how to price em, so when I do price em I have do em manually... I use Cyberhorse Form as my basic data.. ( hope I can say that) Yesterday I was able to rate 32 meetings FR SAT SUN and MON and post the competed ratings to my web site between races 3 and 4 at Geraldton. what used to take me 2 hours or more is all done in under 20 minutes... The forulae themselves involve all the usual suspects... beaten margins, win SR plc SR, and a couple of others.... cant give all of it away :) |
xpt,
Yes the pricing would be quite complicated to do, and I think I know the guy you're talking about. O...c. There are possibly two ways to automate the pricing. The major problem is getting the total for each race calculated seperately, the rest is a breeze. Either he could change the code to have it calculated automatically, by posting each race on a seperate worksheet, but in the workbook, making the odds calculation and then copying and pasting the field and odds to a front summary worksheet, or you could import the workbook to access or similar, and let access do the actual pricing. It's not easy, you need someone with more advanced skills than this little black duck! I've tried to do it before, but it's tricky because you have different field sizes. |
Gday All
I think the load just got a bit lighter..... devonport appears to be a non TAB meeting today... is that right? I cant find it mentioned anywhere |
Found it on the TABTAS site so I will leave em in

Breaking The Rules @ $6.10
Cheers xpt! |
Anyone have the winner of the last at the 'Brook.. paid better than 100 here... I certainly couldn't find it... rated it as the horse with the least chance in the race.. but I am sure someone will have backed it ...
|
Xpt thanks for your ratings i'm getting some nice results from them ;).
Do you keep your ratings archived? i wouldnt mind getting my hands on a copy for each race day for the last month or 2 if its possible. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :). |
