Hmmm, just a bit too late to include her in the Fantasy Racing comp for September.

I was right to be scared off... I sometimes ************ a race up like that and can't get a handle on it... tho no harm done

seems everyones on Sirenese....i'm worried about that Ryan fella though..
treble will pay alright aswell.. ..to short for me to back outright but the treble will do nicely ..go robbo :)

xptdriver 29th August 2005 04:15 PM

The last at Gunnedah has 3 hopes in my opinion...

5 3 and 7 of those at the moment the 5 is value.. tho big Harley has just tipped it to win...... I would want $3.2 for the 5 $3.5 for the 3 and $8 for the 7... I dont think there is anything else there that can win... any thoughts? I know mav is keen on the 3 and I hope it gets up for him

maverick1993 29th August 2005 04:23 PM

woooofriginhoo :)

Sportz 29th August 2005 04:23 PM

Easy win.

Not bad. And I actually did have the winner of Race 5 at Gunnedah too, because I switched to Robbo's mount there. Won't claim that one though.

I also had a small bet on those ones that XPT mentioned in the last at Horsham, so 10 races for 10 wins for me today. Most of them pretty short, but still a good day.

maverick1993 29th August 2005 04:38 PM

2.50 about Sirenese ended up being fairly backable...snooze you loose...shouldn't be greedy though..
bring on tomorrow :)

maverick1993 29th August 2005 07:07 PM

Quiet day tomorrow..just have a couple.
Sale
*Flying Ed ...funny race this one...Ed runs well first up ..and ran some very handy races last prep although this is alittle shorter than his best most of these are in the same boat...Tal jak can run well fresh aswell but likes it longer..the old fella down the bottom Prospecters Dream was only a couple off party Pie last start and atleast has fitness.. ..Ed has little weight and first up last time was just behind the handy Mr Magoo....a few of the others can run a handy race here and there..but Ed likes this time of year and might be some value..might be some value in the excotics here aswell

*Sabre..watched this horse chase home Very Canny up here ..was a good honest run..he's jumping 600m in distance here and i think this will suit..this boy is out of a decent Mare who won over distance ..actualy a listed race in town and has also produced Hotter Than Hell the more than handy jumper trained by Eric Musgrove..So you'd think being by Octagonal that the extra distance is in his favour..has a more than handy Jockey on board,,this kid has talent and has been killing them at the Gold Coast for ages..the toppy the only danger..(eladnicul a horse Sabre beat easily last time has come out and won a jumps trial and a maiden over 2000m since)

Like Clontaago at warrick Farm...last couple have been good.got into a bit of bother last run when fav,but looked to have plenty of running left in him..,seems the jump in distance suits...hes up in class here..but its not a tough race..Beadman takes the mount which means it will be way unders...if by some miracle its at e/w odds i might be tempted but if Beadmans won a few by then ,its the usual story....
He's such a brilliant rider and you'd think you would want him on your horse..but he just kills the price,,,especially midweek,,,Railings on Saturday payed way more than expected so you just never know..

Good Luck all :)

tarbs 29th August 2005 08:45 PM

Will play with yours tommorrow Mav, love the analysis

Missed the treble today a Gunna, got greedy, went 10 units instead of 5 and missed first leg. Had 3 a standout in last and your 2 in middle leg.

Just a quick couple for tommorrow as Im working back late tonight so probably wont have time to post tommorrow. I dont really like much but....

Sale 5: 3 main ones for tri, quin ex etc are Arunee, Bahemian Rhapsody, Prospectors Dream in first 3 then Tal Jack and Kendalay
Sale 6: Put Our Alakbar in exotics at odds
Sale 7: Bakula
Sale 8: A tad cool

Wawick Farm

Race 2: Gonski from Port Peru
Race 3: Mythique E/W
Race 4: Starbeel

Sorry cant post reasons but best are probably Gonski/Port Peru and Bakula

Cheers!

Sportz 30th August 2005 11:11 AM

Geez, some top horses for a Tuesday!!! But it means not much value in some races unfortunately. In race 2 at Warwick Farm, we see the reappearance of Gonski. He could be something very special and his trainer says today is just like a barrier trial, so that shows you his opinion. He has been off the scene for a fair while now though and he's likely to be at a ridiculously short price ($1.10-$1.20). He'll probably win, but if he is to be beaten, Port Peru should be the one. I tipped her last time and she was very impressive. Perhaps she might be worth a gamble or maybe play around with multiples.

Sale Race 1: 12 VIVA LA COVERT
Viva La Covert was a top run behind the promising Specialstarz last start and looks a great each way chance here. Costalots and Jack's Palace could be the dangers.

Sale Race 5: 3 ARUNEE & 4 KENDALAY
I've been waiting for Arunee. It was a good run first up and he's unbeaten 2nd up. Just short of his ideal distance here but he's a top chance. Kendalay has a brilliant record at this track.

WFm R4 - 1 SPIKES & 4 PATCHED UP.
Spikes is highly promising. Still yet to win, but 3 top runs so far against much stronger opposition than this. Hopefully set for a good spring. Patched Up's form is excellent for this though. A good effort for 2nd behind God's Own in strong Saturday class last start and a top chance here.

Here are the races I'll be looking at. Hoping for some value.

Sale R1 - 12 VIVA LA COVERT, 4 Costalots, 8 Jack's Palace (12,4,8,11 - 2,3)
Sale R2 - 7 HIGH COSTALANA, 2 Bally Legend, 1 Appellant (7,2,1,3 - 9,8)
Sale R5 - 3 ARUNEE & 4 KENDALAY (3,4,1 - 8,2)
Sale R8 - 4 ITSAMONTY & 6 A TAD COOL (4,6,3,2 - 10,9)

WFm R3 - 1 SUN SONG & 9 DEL MAR (1,9,3 - 4,2)
WFm R4 - 1 SPIKES & 4 PATCHED UP (1,4,3 - 2,8)
WFm R5 - 5 ROSE OF KINGS, 4 Glossy Games, 3 Genuinely (5,4,3 - 1,8)
WFm R6 - 1 PUBLICITY STUNT, 10 CLONTAAGO (1,10,3,4 - 2,5)
WFm R7 - 10 POLICY, 1 Flaming, 4 Croatian Prince (10,1,4,5 - 7,8,6)

tarbs 30th August 2005 11:20 AM

Might have alittle something on the Testa Rossa in the first Sante Devote...

Sportz 30th August 2005 11:21 AM

The money seems to be for Aznavour in R1 at Sale.

Sportz 30th August 2005 11:24 AM

Yahooooo! :D

What an incredible price thanks to the plunge!!!

Stix 30th August 2005 11:25 AM

Great start Sportz...

Sportz 30th August 2005 11:29 AM

Can't believe it. I thought it should be about $2.50 on the basis of it's last run!!!

Sportz 30th August 2005 12:04 PM

Well, High Costalana was a ridiculous price, so I left that race alone apart from a couple of any2 bets.

It's amazing what a difference it makes when you look for value. I considered Viva La Covert a stronger winning chance than High Costalana, so I wasn't going to take such a short price!

Stix 30th August 2005 12:53 PM

Huh??

What the hell just happened then?..........Gonski?

Was listening to radio and sounded like Port Peru put him in the stands !!

Sportz 30th August 2005 12:55 PM

Well, there you go! War Of The Worlds?

Gonski goes down at ridiculous odds and Port Peru drifted out taking him with her. Did anyone see the race? Was it Port Peru's waywardness that cost Gonski, or was he just plain disappointing???

maverick1993 30th August 2005 01:29 PM

no excuses Sportz ..he was dissapointing..it was just alittle bump..he had heaps of time to recover....Bowman had alrady given him a crack with the whip way before then,,he knew he was traveling ordinary..

BJ 30th August 2005 01:33 PM

$350,000 traded on the race on BF. More than 300 on Gonski...

I had $125 on it but didn't see the race... ************ pay tv..

The free hit I had on War of the Worlds to bring in $220, more than made up for it though....

Sportz 30th August 2005 01:48 PM

Damn! I hate that!!! Last night as soon as I saw the fields, I immediately picked out Arunee and Tal Jack for Race 5 at Sale. But then this morning I've looked at it a bit closer and seen Kendalay's excellent record at the track and I've gone and switched them. How dumb! :o

I did actually manage to make a handy profit on the race, but it would have been nice to tip the winner for you guys.

maverick1993 30th August 2005 01:56 PM

lot of late money on Starbeel here in the next ...after the impressive trial the other day..
might get Spikes out to something backable..

Easy trifecta at Sale..needed old Ed to run a place to make it worthwhile...think hes still running :) get a tri 5 times and still end up behind..

hoping for another treble today...going 3,4/3,4,12/4 ..

can't tip them all Sportz.. :) if you could we'd be millionaires

tarbs 30th August 2005 02:00 PM

Hope starbeel can get over the line here for me, struggling a little. If not I'm all in with my tueday pot on Our Alakbar and Mav's pick Sabre. Might save a little for my selection a tad cool if I get the current price, and then have a little go on our blackbooker Boys of summer, although I dont like it backing up so much.

Overall a little boring though today. Might go for a run and do some cleaning up out in the yard/shed instead

Sportz 30th August 2005 02:04 PM

Bad luck guys. :o

Personally, I thought Patched Up's form around God's Own pointed to a win here.

maverick1993 30th August 2005 02:05 PM

another hot pot loses ...the bookies are cleaning up.. ..if its odds on its not on ..good advice but it seems not not many people listen to it..

Sportz 30th August 2005 02:07 PM

Mav,

I've got Spikes in my Fantasy stable. I hope he doesn't turn out to be another Wenceslas Square. :D

tarbs 30th August 2005 02:09 PM

Interesting to see Luv2bet's blackbook pick 'chilli smoo' is nominated in about 4 races this weekend in adelaide. Looks like Jolly is going to really find a race well suited to him this week and he may well be the tip of the week. I will be on it in a big way I reakon because when Jolly does this he's generally spot on!

TheAvenger 30th August 2005 02:09 PM

Great tipping, Sportz. I'd like to play some more, but its past midnight here, and an old man must sleep.

Regards,

Glenn

Especially if you can get $2.50 with the bookies.....

Sportz 30th August 2005 02:11 PM

Spikes was $2.20 on Unitab. I rated him and Patched Up equal favs at $3.00.

lol i'd rather have Spikes than Gonski Sportz...it wasnt a bad run ..he'll win a few this prep..

2.50 about Spikes on course ?? even i would of jumped on that.

tarbs 30th August 2005 02:14 PM

anyone here ever thought of laying a few horses on Betfair? I recently have, and have been working on situations where favorites win/lose etc and think theres so good cash to be made. The key is probably a large balance to cover largish wagers, although if you could stay in the game for a week of so without going broke, you should at least be guarenteed a long term profit of up to 20-30%

tarbs 30th August 2005 02:17 PM

sale treble:

3,5,8/field/6 x 1 unit
