grand final omen tip

my omen tip is torrid affair in race 1
should be a close game with the eagles just prevailing (i hope!)

sportzcaster 23rd September 2005 10:50 PM

A lot of weight!

OK run tonight again on an unsuitable course but must admit very surprised at the weight he had to give to the others

westman 23rd September 2005 11:31 PM

Perhaps a good track

Could be a good track tomorrow at Belmont with dry weather past couple of days and tomorrow's forecast of fine, sunny periods, moderate to fresh SE'ly winds, shifting S/SW in the afternoon.

westman 24th September 2005 12:42 AM

The top-weights at Belmont tomorrow look set for a good day especially **Another Clanger (R1) ** Is Amazing (R2) Interange (R4) ** Eutri (R7) Scenic Mist (R8)

Desi 24th September 2005 03:22 AM

Hey Westman and co...have put in my views on a separate thread under Belmont discussions...hope you dont mind...

Have included the weather also like yourself and hoping the firmer ground will bring in some good ew winners...agree the toppies look good on paper altho I have fingers crossed that the punters go for them and give some value on the others lol!!!:)

Good luck for the weekend!!

DCFC 24th September 2005 06:25 AM

G’day Desi :) surprised (or possibly will be embarrassed after the race LOL) that you’ve not mentioned Belarus in your first race wrap-up. Small field should be a plus, crying out for some distance and will be suited by a fast pace if it turns out as you’ve predicted.

DCFC 24th September 2005 06:46 AM

My (sort of) grand final omen tip is actually racing in the York Cup on Sunday – Economy Flight.

Likely scenario re the flight back home for the losing team LOL

Which I hate to say (on this thread anyway!) will be the eagles!!

River Rough 24th September 2005 08:09 AM

Had me almost ready to go put a bit on Belarus DCFC that’s until I saw your (footy) tip next post which proves you have no idea what you’re talking about lol!! :)

River Rough 24th September 2005 08:27 AM

Hasn’t the Lindsey Smith trained Scenic Assault grown an extra leg this preparation

Lining up today for his 8th win on the trot (if you count his trial win) !!

All the best to his connections!

My fancies for todays York Cup are:-

(10) Shotgun Kid won last years cup Last run solid finishing 2nd over 2000m at Belmont.

(4) Kiwi Hombre followed up good 2nd over 2400m at Belmont with solid run in the Kalgoorlie Cup Blinkers added today.

(8) Our Tiersman not beaten far when 2nd behind Kiwi Hombre in the Port Hedland Cup Goes very well this track.

(7) Lakeside Song looks very well weighted on best form Been a while since raced over a bit of a distance (does ok) and could surprise in this.

My fancies for todays XXXX Gold Sprint are:-

(1) Starjah not far away past few runs in stronger class Strung together two nice wins back in June Will be running on at the business end.

(2) Air Of Supremacy ran a very nice race in the city last start carrying top-weight and with blinkers removed Tongue tie off today.

(10) Whipbird an injury plagued gelding who has above average ability and should step out today at very juicy ew odds Also has the tongue tie off.

Well there you go, we'll never know  Belarus injured on the way to the barrier and understand received a severe cut to the right shoulder which will sideline the 3yo colt for some time :(

Just the one starter in the end River Rough - 100% post strike rate suggests I have some idea  (now and again!) :)

PS How about a few extra smilies management, like  and  for eg.?
