race in three

According to ozbets market for jockey most points at Belmont tomorrow you’d be a fool to back anything not ridden by Harvey, Staeck or Parnham. $10+ for any other jockey to outdo these 3.

Dont share your confidence re Modem westman, can't see the caulfield track suiting his style of racing but with a bit of luck should run a place.

Depending on the prices tomorrow might dabble on Sky Cuddle or Our Smokin Joe or Calveen - not sure. Like you wouldn't be surprised to see Roman Arch run a good one.

Good news

Belmont - weather fine; track good; rail 15 metres :)

Ozgunner 8th October 2005 09:47 AM

The Western Dynamo

In the lucky last at Belmont today we have The Western Dynamo returning from a spell. This fellow was looking to be a winter sprinting sensation before beaten fav last 2 starts of previous campaign. The concern might be that he is just a winter horse but his wins were too impressive for that imo. Whatever he does today he will no doubt improve on as he progresses through this campaign.

I guess the jury’s still out as to being a 'sprinting sensation'
Was running on very well at the death though!

stantheman 9th October 2005 09:14 AM

..if you check previous first-up performances by TWD they have been just reasonable ..yesterdays first-up best so far so not disappointing in the least and on track...

Modem 9th October 2005 09:57 AM

The ‘real’ money wasn’t around (betting drifter) and will obviously benefit from the run so let’s see what happens next run or two

All unplaced but not far away from the placegetters so still worth a follow-up

Black Bookers

I have 2 black bookers running for me today at Northam
Both had little luck last start when fancied and should improve today

Race 7 (1) Briefman
Race 8 (9) Sand George

westman 9th October 2005 12:31 PM

Another Northerly?

Fred Kersley could have another quality galloper in the shape of Cape North who scored effortlessly in race 2 at Belmont Park yesterday.
The 3YO gelding was far too good for his rivals winning by 3.5 lens and has now won 2 from 2 this campaign.
Reported that Fred was most impressed with the run and after the race publicly touted Cape North as a horse with a very good future.

Gee a lot of support for Mavericks Honour in the 1st, a maiden taking on a couple of useful class 4s

Way too early to classify Cape North as anything but a bit above average even for an experienced horseman like Kersley

In the end a triple deadheat – Harvey, Staeck and Luciani
And if you backed either Harvey or Staeck you would have lost on the day!
